Fulham vs Man United Preview

Fulham have recovered from a poor start to the season with a mini-unbeaten run. Man United’s domestic form is unconvincing and the Cottagers can win or draw in the Premier League.

Key Stats - United on a Losing Streak

  • Fulham are unbeaten in their last 2 matches.
  • Fulham have drawn 2 of their last 3 games against Man United.
  • Man United have lost 2 consecutive matches.

H2H

Man United have a 59-16 advantage against Fulham, alongside 21 draws.

Fulham Gradually Improving

Fulham have started to find some form this season and are unbeaten in three of their previous five matches.

The Cottagers comfortably beat AFC Wimbledon 3-0 at home before consecutive league losses to Sunderland 1-0 and Crystal Palace 3-2.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s side earned their first point of the Premier League campaign after a 0-0 draw at Liverpool. Fulham had chances and couldn’t score with four shots on target.

The west London side carried momentum into a 3-2 EFL Cup victory at West Ham. Rodrigo Muniz, Cesar Palacios and Oscar Bobb scored as Fulham dominated with 2.52 XG and 62% possession.

Man United Low on Confidence After Shock Results

Michael Carrick’s Man United look shaky and have won just two of their opening six matches in all competitions.

United fell to a shock 2-0 defeat at Hull in their opening Premier League match before a 5-2 home win over Ipswich.

The Red Devils dropped points in a 2-2 draw at Everton, where they led twice. Carrick’s side also lost 1-0 at home against Man City on Sunday and created just one big chance.

The Manchester outfit were knocked out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday, giving up a 2-0 lead and losing 3-2 to Brighton. Shea Lacey and Mason Mount scored in the opening 10 minutes before United allowed 2.15 XG and conceded three goals.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Fulham (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Timothy Castagne, David Affengruber, Calvin Bassey, Antonee Robinson; Sander Berge, Shea Charles; Oscar Bobb, Josh King, Alex Iwobi; Gonzalo Garcia

Midfielder Tom Cairney is out with a long-term knee problem.

Ryan Sessegnon has missed the last two games through injury. Alvaro Arbeloa was unsure about the defender’s availability for the Man United game and said, “We don't want to take any risks. A small groin problem."

Man United (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Patrick Dorgu; Youri Tielemans, Kobbie Mainoo; Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford; Matheus Cunha

Winger Amad Diallo, defender Matthijs de Ligt and midfielders Carlos Baleba and Manuel Ugarte are unavailable due to injury.

Luke Shaw is expected to return to the squad after missing the last three games. Michael Carrick issued a recent update on the full-back and said, “It’s not clear-cut, but it’s a matter of a few days rather than anything else.”

Verdict

Fulham will want to keep their improved form rolling and can take at least a point from out-of-form Man United. A home double chance bet has good value in the Premier League.
