H2H - Tricky Trees Dominate

Nottingham Forest have a 48-20 advantage against Coventry, alongside 28 draws.

Nottingham Forest on the Up

Nottingham Forest have recovered from back-to-back goalless defeats at the start of the new season.

Forest lost 1-0 and 2-0 at home against Leeds before a 2-2 draw at Liverpool. Morgan Gibbs-White scored and assisted in that Anfield stalemate.

The Tricky Trees drew for a second consecutive match and held Tottenham to a 0-0 home draw. Oliver Glasner’s side allowed no shots on target and Gibbs-White had 0.51 individual XG.

The Nottingham side gained their first win of the season after beating Aston Villa 2-1 away. Forest had 2.28 XG and Liam Delap opened the scoring before Gibbs-White set up Igor Jesus for a late second.

Coventry Bottom of the Premier League

Frank Lampard’s Coventry have lacked the quality to compete in the Premier League. The Sky Blues have no points or goals from their first four games and have conceded 10.

Coventry lost 3-0 at Arsenal, 1-0 against Hull and 1-0 at Man City in their opening three matches. A 5-0 home loss against Brighton followed, where the Midlands side had just 30% possession and allowed 2.81 XG.

Lampard’s side had their fifth defeat of the season after a 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday. Victor Torp cancelled out Villa’s opener and Coventry conceded two more without reply.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Matz Sels; Ola Aina, Ousmane Diomande, Murillo; Daniel Munoz, James McAtee, Xaver Schlager, Neco Williams; Dan Ndoye, Morgan Gibbs-White; Liam Delap

Defender Nicolo Savona is unavailable due to a long-term knee issue.

Centre-backs Nikola Milenkovic and Jair Cunha withdrew before the Aston Villa match with hamstring injuries. Oliver Glasner explained that Milenkovic is unavailable and Cunha could return against Coventry and said:

"Let's see. But Nikola will definitely miss next week's game. With Jair, we are still hopeful.”

Coventry (4-2-3-1): Carl Rushworth; Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Thomas, Ethan Pinnock, Jay Dasilva; Frank Onyeka, Victor Torp; Jack Rudoni, Gustavo Hamer, Ephron Mason-Clarke; Sidiki Cherif

Striker Taiwo Awoniyi is suspended. Midfielder Josh Eccles, forward Haji Wright and defenders Luke Woolfenden and Kaine Kesler-Hayden are injured.

Aurele Amenda was subbed off due to a calf injury against Villa and is a doubt for Saturday’s game. Frank Lampard was cautious about the defender’s injury and said he won’t “jump to conclusions” over Amenda’s condition.

Verdict

Nottingham Forest are an improving side and Morgan Gibbs-White is key to the Tricky Trees’ attacking output. Coventry concede loads of goals and Gibbs-White can get on the scoresheet in a likely home win.
