The Magpies began the new campaign with a four-match unbeaten run. Matthias Jaissle’s outfit drew 2-2 against Liverpool and Bournemouth at home before beating Millwall 1-0 away.

The Tyneside team lost their first game of the season on Monday following a 4-1 defeat at Leeds. Newcastle were second best with 0.88-2.08 XG, trailed 4-0 after 59 minutes and Bazoumana Toure scored a late consolation.

Hull Causing Upsets in the Top Flight

Newly promoted Hull have hit top form early in the Premier League season. They are fourth in the table and have gained eight points from a possible 12.

The Tigers secured back-to-back victories in their first two top-flight games. A 2-0 home win over Man United came before a 1-0 victory at Coventry.

Hull continued their solid start and held Aston Villa to a goalless home draw, facing just one shot on target.

Sergej Jakirovic’s side then drew 2-2 at Chelsea. The Tigers trailed after seven minutes and Mohamed Belloumi scored a brace before Chelsea hit back with 25 minutes remaining.

“We think he has concussion. He went to the hospital and after head scan we will know more."
