Brentford and Chelsea seldom keep clean sheets, making their upcoming Premier League clash likely to produce plenty of goals. Analysts predict both teams will score and the match will feature over 2.5 goals. Joao Pedro is a highlighted goalscorer, with confidence in him finding the net, possibly more than once. Brentford vs Chelsea Preview

Brentford often get on the scoresheet and Chelsea are the highest-scoring top-flight side this season. Joao Pedro is firing in the goals and can get chances in an open Premier League clash.

Key Stats - Joao Pedro in Top Form

  • Brentford have seen BTTS in 5 consecutive matches.
  • Chelsea have seen over 3.5 goals in their last 2 games.
  • Chelsea’s Joao Pedro has scored 10 goals in his last 10 matches.

H2H

Chelsea have a 12-7 advantage against Brentford, alongside six draws.

Joao Pedro scored the opener during Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Brentford in January.

Brentford Are BTTS Specialists

Keith Andrews’ Brentford are in strong recent form and haven’t lost in 10 consecutive games. The Bees have seen BTTS in eight of those fixtures and scored 29 goals.

Brentford made a positive start to the new campaign and beat Tottenham 3-0 and Birmingham 6-1. Three consecutive league draws followed against Leeds and Sunderland 1-1 and Bournemouth 2-2.

Andrews’ team continued their high-scoring streak in the EFL Cup and beat Reading 2-1 away. The Bees dominated with 3.21 XG, 24 shots and Callum Wilson and Fabio Carvalho scored in the first half.

Chelsea Wide Open Under Alonso

Chelsea are very high-scoring in the 2026/27 season and average five goals per game in all competitions. They are the Premier League’s highest-scoring side and have seen 19 total goals in four matches.

Xabi Alonso’s outfit won their opening two matches, beating Fulham 3-2 and Brighton 4-3. Joao Pedro scored in both games and struck in the first minute during the Fulham victory.

The Blues’ only defeat this season was a 2-1 defeat at top-of-the-table Arsenal. Chelsea replied with a 6-3 comeback EFL Cup victory against Leeds.

The west Londoners were held to a 2-2 home draw against Hull on Saturday. Morgan Rogers scored in the seventh minute and Chelsea conceded twice before Joao Pedro equalised in the second period.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Brentford (4-2-3-1): Caoimhin Kelleher; Michael Kayode, Jannik Schuster, Kristoffer Ajer, Keane Lewis-Potter; Mamadou Sangare, Vitaly Janelt; Dango Ouattara, Mikkel Damsgaard, Kevin Schade; Igor Thiago

Defenders Nathan Collins and Sepp van den Berg are ruled out with injuries. Midfield duo Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo are unavailable through injury.

Kaye Furo also won’t feature and Keith Andrews revealed that the striker “had to have an operation” before the Reading match.

Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Emiliano Martinez; Levi Colwill, Maxence Lacroix, Wesley Fofana; Pedro Neto, Romeo Lavia, Reece James, Jorrel Hato; Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers; Joao Pedro

Midfielder Jordan Henderson, defender Marco Palestra and striker Emmanuel Emegha have returned to training and could make the squad.

Midfielder Moises Caicedo is unlikely to feature following a calf issue. Xabi Alonso was cautious about the midfielder’s condition recently and said:

'Unluckily, not yet, and it's not the moment to take the risk with him. We are not there yet.”

Verdict

Brentford and Chelsea rarely keep clean sheets and both sides have dangerous attacking threats. A high-scoring clash and Joao Pedro goals are tipped in the Premier League.
