Hull City and Millwall face off in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final, both coming into the tie in excellent form. Hull are unbeaten in their last four at home, securing their play-off spot with a late-season surge, while Millwall are on a nine-game unbeaten away run and boast the best Championship away record. Historically, both teams are evenly matched. With their current form and defensive solidity, a draw at the MKM Stadium is the likely outcome.

Hull Ended the Season Positively at Home

Hull secured a Championship play-off spot on the final day of the 2025/26 campaign. Sergej Jakirovic’s side went unbeaten in six of their final eight games, drawing four, to finish inside the top six.

The Tigers have a solid recent home record and haven't lost at the MKM Stadium since early March. Hull are undefeated in four at home, including draws with Championship winners Coventry 0-0 and Birmingham 1-1.

The Humderside outfit secured their play-off spot with a 2-1 home victory against Norwich. The Tigers controlled the game with 1.82-0.97 XG and Ollie McBurnie's brace helped to seal the win.

Millwall Don’t Lose Many Championship Away Games

Alex Neil’s Millwall ended the Championship campaign with the best away record. They lost just four of their 23 matches on the road and conceded a league-low of 24 goals.

The Lions finished the season with a five-match unbeaten run, including away draws at West Brom 0-0 and Leicester 1-1. Those stalemates came either side of a 3-1 victory at Stoke.

Millwall comfortably beat Oxford 2-0 at home on the final day of the season. Femi Azeez scored twice and the Lions were on top with 21 shots and 2.15 XG.
