Shanghai Port vs Dalian Yingbo Predictions & Tips - Champions Tipped to Claim High-Scoring CSL Win

Shanghai Port host Dalian Yingbo in the Chinese Super League, aiming for a third straight win. Both teams have shown attacking prowess but defensive vulnerabilities, making 'Both Teams to Score' (BTTS) a strong pick. Shanghai Port's home form has been inconsistent, yet their recent victories and superior head-to-head record suggest they can secure a high-scoring win. Dalian struggle away but regularly find the net. The scoreline could be high, so backing Shanghai to win with at least three match goals looks valuable.

Shanghai Port vs Dalian Yingbo Predictions

Shanghai Port return to the SAIC Motor Pudong Arena looking to claim a third successive Chinese Super League victory.

Port have a poor home record, though, so the BTTS pick looks like a stronger option.

I have my stake on both teams to score, while I also expect Shanghai to claim a high-scoring win in Wednesday’s CSL encounter.

Goals Likely in Shanghai

  • Shanghai Port have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 11 matches
  • Shanghai Port conceded an average of 1.1 goals per game in their last 10 home matches
  • Shanghai Port won 3 of their last 4 matches
  • Dalian Yingbo have seen BTTS in 8 of their last 9 matches
  • Dalian Yingbo scored an average of 1.18 goals per game in their last 11 away matches
  • Dalian Yingbo lost 5 of their last 7 away matches (CSL)

Port Edge Dalian in Head to Head Record

Shanghai Port and Dalian Yingbo have met on three occasions since 2025. Shanghai Port won two games, while Dalian claimed one victory.

The home side eased to a 3-0 win when these sides last met at SAIC Motor Pudong Arena.

Shanghai Port Claim Successive CSL Road Wins

Shanghai Port come into Wednesday’s CSL contest after a dramatic 3-2 victory against Wuhan Three Towns last Friday.

Kevin Muscat’s side trailed at the interval, but Prince Obeng Ampem struck twice in the second period to complete an impressive turnaround.

Antoine Leautey pulled one back for Wuhan, but Shanghai held on to claim a second successive 3-2 away victory. The CSL champions secured victory by the same scoreline against Chongqing Tonglianglong five days earlier.

Port were good value for their victory, with final xG totals of 1.18 to 2.10 reflecting the visitors' greater threat in front of goal.

The Red Eagles have now won three of their previous four league fixtures, including a 2-0 derby victory against local rivals Shanghai Shenhua.

Despite their improved form, Muscat’s men sit ninth in the division, seven points behind Dalian and 21 short of runaway leaders Chengdu Rongcheng.

A lack of defensive security makes the host a solid BTTS pick this season. Shanghai conceded at least one goal in 14 of their last 16 matches - thirteen of those 16 games finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Dalian Yingbo Suffer Another Away Defeat

Dalian Yingbo make the trip to Shanghai after a 3-1 defeat against Yunnan Yukun last weekend.

Frank Acheampong gave Li Guoxu’s side an early lead, but Cleber equalised before Oscar Taty Maritu struck twice to complete the hosts’ comeback victory.

Yingbo were perhaps fortunate to avoid a heavier defeat. Weijie Mao was dismissed in the first half, forcing the visitors into a backs-to-the-wall display as Yukun registered 30 attempts and a final xG of 4.73.

Last weekend’s road reversal leaves Dalian sixth in the CSL, but only two points behind second-placed Yukun.

The Blue Hawks have struggled on their Super League travels this season, losing five of their last seven away fixtures. Over a longer period, Li’s men won only two of their 11 CSL road matches this season, losing seven while conceding 25 goals.

Despite those defensive problems, the visitors have scored at least one goal in 13 of their last 14 fixtures.

Shanghai Port vs Dalian Yingbo Team News

Shanghai Port: (4-2-3-1) Yan Junling; Xi Yang, Zhen Wei, Yusup Umidjan, Yue Xin; Fu Huan, Mateus Vital; Wu Lei, Óscar Melendo, Prince Ampem; Leonardo.

Port boss Muscat could retain the same first XI that started last weekend’s victory against Wuhan Three Towns.

Prince Obeng Ampem should keep his place after scoring twice, while Leonardo will continue to spearhead the attack. The Brazilian forward has scored eight goals in 18 CSL appearances this season.

Dalian Yingbo: (4-2-3-1) Weiguo Liu; Feng Boxuan, Jinhao Bi, Yue Song, Zhu Pengyu; Jintao Liao, Isnik Alimi; Luo Jing, Nicolae Stanciu, Frank Acheampong; Cephas Malele.

Dalian boss Li will be forced into at least one change to his selection. Weijie Mao is suspended after his red card against Yunnan. Zhu Pengyu is likely to deputise in the Yingbo defence.

Acheampong should retain his place after scoring his sixth league goal of the season.

Defender Cao Haiqing is the only confirmed injury absentee for the visitors.

Verdict

Shanghai should have the momentum to claim a high-scoring win in Wednesday’s CSL encounter.

Dalian have struggled on their travels, but are likely to score against a leaky Red Eagles defence.

BTTS is my first pick, while I also have a stake on Shanghai to win with three or more match goals.
