Wolves have a 42-41 advantage against Sheffield United, alongside 37 draws.

Sheffield United Lacking Defensive Quality

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United are a tough-to-beat outfit, losing just once in eight games this season. The Blades have been high-scoring recently and have conceded in five consecutive matches.

United’s recent goal fest started with a 2-1 win against Blackburn in the EFL Cup. A 2-2 draw at Cardiff, 3-2 win over Bolton and a 3-1 home loss to Norwich followed.

The defensive problems continued with a 2-1 victory at Blackburn. Wilder's side conceded after 20 minutes, faced 19 shots and Tom Cannon and Sydie Peck scored.

Wolves Among the Championship’s Highest Scorers

Wolves are the second-highest scoring side in the Championship this season. The Midlands outfit have seen 23 goals in five fixtures, scoring 13 and conceding 10.

Wanderers started the 2026/27 season in strong form and were undefeated in five games in all competitions. They capped that run with a commanding 4-1 Championship win over Stoke and had 2.66 XG.

The Old Gold’s only defeat this term was a 4-2 away loss at top-of-the-table West Ham. Cesar Peixoto’s side allowed 2.05 XG and had 19 shots at the London Stadium.

Wolves led twice and drew 2-2 at Birmingham on Sunday. Fernando Lopez and Ladislav Krejci scored in the first half and Wolves faced five shots on target.

Defensive pair Femi Seriki and Harrison Burrows are out due to injury. Forwards Tahith Chong and Ryan One are also injured and unavailable.

Chris Wilder addressed Sheffield United’s key player injuries recently and said, “We’re scrambling at the moment. We’ve got to get through to the international break.”
