Sporting Lisbon vs Bodo/Glimt Tips & Prediction – Back BTTS in the Champions League

Sporting Lisbon faces a daunting task in their UEFA Champions League tie against Bodo/Glimt, having lost the first leg 3-0 in Norway. Despite their impressive home record and goal-scoring consistency, Sporting’s inability to create opportunities in the first match casts doubt on their chances. Bodo/Glimt, fresh from triumphs in the UCL and Norwegian Cup, look to capitalize on their impressive form with no injury setbacks. For bettors, both teams scoring seems a probable scenario given their recent offensive displays.

Sporting Lisbon have no other option but to surge forward after losing the first tie 3-0. Bodo/Glimt punished Inter Milan through counter-attacks in the previous round, so I fancy BTTS as the main bet.

Key Stats

  • Sporting Lisbon have scored in their last 21 home matches.
  • Bodo/Glimt have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 7 matches.

Just One Previous Meeting

This is going to be the second head to head clash between these sides.

Sporting’s Chances to Advance are Very Low

Sporting Lisbon lacked creativity in last week’s tie against Bodo/Glimt, losing the first leg convincingly 3-0 without creating a single goal opportunity.

Their results in the Champions League group phase at home were stunning, winning all four games against Kairat Almaty 4-1, Marseille 2-1, Club Brugge 3-0 and Paris SG 2-1.

Rui Borges’ side faced Sporting Braga in their most recent Primeira Liga clash, were one minute away from winning the clash but conceded in stoppage time (2-2) which is a big setback for the title race. The Lisbon side is currently seven points behind the leaders Porto.

Historic UCL Run for Bodo

Bodo/Glimt claimed well-deserved 3-0 win against Sporting Lisbon last week in Norway, ending the match with 2.78-0.61 expected goals, Sondre Fet, Ole Blomberg and Kasper Hogh finding the net.

They also looked fantastic in the UCL Round of 32, causing a major upset with two victories against Inter Milan 3-1 and 2-1.

The Yellow Horde also played their first competitive clash in Norway in 2026, beating Molde 2-1 in the Norwegian Cup earlier this month thanks to Sondre Auklend’s brace.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Sporting Lisbon (4-2-3-1) Rui Silva; Ivan Fresneda, Ousmane Diomande, Goncalo Inacio, Maximiliano Araujo; Morten Hjulmand, Hidemasa Morita; Geny Catamo, Francisco Trincao, Pedro Goncalves; Luis Suarez

Ricardo Mangas, Geovany Quenda and Fotis Ioannidis are ruled out for the home side due to injuries.

Bodo/Glimt (4-3-3) Nikita Haikin; Fredrik Sjovold, Odin Bjortuft, Jostein Gundersen, Fredrik Andre Bjorkan; Hakon Evjen, Patrick Berg, Sondre Brunstad Fet; Ole Didrik Blomberg, Kasper Hogh, Jens Petter Hauge

The Norwegian champions have no reported injuries or suspensions ahead of this clash.

Verdict

Sporting Lisbon are super-consistent when it comes to scoring at home, but could be vulnerable to Bodo/Glimt’s swift counter-attacks. I am backing both sides to score in Portugal.
