Stellenbosch vs Marumo Gallants Betting Tips - Draw backed in PSL clash

Stellenbosch FC have continued their poor form into the new season, managing just one win in their last eight league matches and struggling to score. Marumo Gallants, meanwhile, have gone 11 matches without a win, with an incredible eight consecutive draws, including several 0-0 results. Historically, Gallants hold the upper hand in head-to-head encounters. Both sides have suffered key player departures and injury issues, leading to further instability. The analysis concludes with a strong recommendation to back another draw, most likely a low-scoring or 0-0 outcome.

  • Stellenbosch have only 1 win in their last 8 league matches.
  • Marumo Gallants are winless in 11, with 8 consecutive draws.
  • Prediction: Draw likely, with a 0-0 score expected.

Stellenbosch have been poor since last season and Marumo Gallants have failed to win in their last 11 matches, including the last eight which ended in draws. I am backing this to become their ninth successive draw.

Gallants Eight Draws in a Row

Stellenbosch have drawn 3 of their last 5 matches.
Stellenbosch have seen BTTS No in 11 of their last 12 matches against Marumo Gallants.
Marumo Gallants have drawn their last 8 matches.
Marumo Gallants have drawn 0-0 in their last 2 matches.

Head to Head – Gallants Hold Advantage

In 18 mathces, Marumo Gallants have won nine and Stellenbosch five along with four draws.

Stelenbosch Struggling for Form

Stellenbosch’s last eight league matches have yielded just one win. In their last seven matches, they have failed to score on five occasions.

A 2-0 home defeat to Orlando Pirates preceded a 0-0 away at Durban City. They beat Orbit College 2-0 at home before drawing 0-0 at Marumo Gallants on the final day of last season.

Stellies lost 1-0 to Golden Arrows in their opening PSL match last weekend in Durban. In midweek, they surrendered a 2-1 lead in a 3-3 draw away at Polokwane City.

Winless in 11 Matches for Gallants

Marumo Gallants have drawn eight straight matches. They finished 14th last season and have a new coach in Phuti Mohafe, who they brought in from Polokwane City.

A 1-1 home draw vs Richards Bay made it three straight stalemates. Another 1-1 draw at Polokwane City was followed by a dull 0-0 home draw vs Stellenbosch to end last season.

They began this season late after their fixture vs Mamelodi Sundowns was postponed. Their opening fixture saw a 0-0 home draw vs Kruger United as they missed a penalty and several clear chances.

Predicted Lineups & News

Stellenbosch (3-5-2): Stephens; Nkwali, Msimango, Vena, Lebitso, Mthethwa, Palace, Butsaka, Mashego; Kwayiba, Du Preez.

Stellies have sold their two best wingers in this transfer window as Langelihle Phili and Devin Titus have departed. Ashley Du Preez from Kaizer Chiefs and prolific veteran Bradley Grobler have been signed, but both are lacking match fitness.

Centre back Given Msimango missed the midweek match for an unknown reason as he waits to make his debut. Veteran centre back Mosa Lebusa is out injured, leaving a very young defensive line.

Marumo Gallants (4-3-3): Mlambo; Lukhele, Rikhotso, Sikakane, Ntiya-Ntiya; Ndlondlo, Mabuza, Manaka; Kunene, Sihlali, Otladisa.

New coach Phuti Mohafe lost goalkeeper Washington Arubi and centre back Eroine Agnikoi from last season. Thokozane Lukhele has joined at right back from Golden Arrows.

Central midfielder Ibrahim Bance and winger Jaissen Clifford are two other departures. Experienced winger Katlego Otladisa is pushing for a recall in this match, whilst winger Bheki Mabuza may again play in central midfield.

Verdict

I don't see both sides scoring in this match. I'm backing a draw with a 0-0 correct score tip.
