Man United have a 5-2 advantage against Roma, alongside one draw.

Man United's Decline Continues

Michael Carrick’s position at Man United is under severe scrutiny following a nine-match winless run. The Red Devils have lost six games in that period.

United have lost two consecutive Champions League matches. A 2-0 loss at Atletico Madrid came before a 4-1 thrashing at Como.

The Como loss started a run of three consecutive defeats. United also lost 3-0 at home against Bournemouth, allowing 2.15 XG.

Carrick’s side lost again on Saturday after a 2-0 Premier League defeat at Chelsea. The Red Devils were second best with 1.24-3 XG and conceded twice in the second period.

Roma Look Strong in 2026/27

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma have been tough to beat this season and are undefeated in 12 of 13 matches.

Roma’s only defeat was a 4-3 home loss against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Donyell Malen scored twice in that game.

The Giallorossi replied with victories over Genoa 2-0 and Slovan Bratislava 4-0. A 3-3 draw at Napoli and a 4-2 home win over Cagliari followed.

The Serie A side extended their unbeaten run to five games following a 5-2 triumph at Udinese. Bryan Cristante, Rodrigo Mora, Malen and Evan Ndicka scored in the first half and Daniele Ghilardi added a late fifth.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Man United (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot; Andrey Santos, Kobbie Mainoo; Bruno Fernandes, Youri Tielemans, Mason Mount; Bryan Mbeumo

Forward Marcus Rashford and defender Luke Shaw are injury doubts. Striker Benjamin Sesko, winger Patrick Dorgu and midfielder Manuel Ugarte are unavailable due to injury.

Michael Carrick issued a recent update on Sesko’s long-term shin injury and said, “Yeah, not so positive unfortunately with Ben, he's going to be out for a period of time.”

Roma (3-4-2-1): Pierluigi Gollini; Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka, Mario Hermoso; Nahuel Molina, Marten de Roon, Niccolo Pisilli, Wesley Franca; Matias Soule, Rodrigo Mora; Donyell Malen

Attacker Paulo Dybala has a calf injury and goalkeeper Mile Svilar is ruled out with a toe issue. Midfielders Manu Kone and Lorenzo Pellegrini are also ruled out through injury.

Verdict

Man Utd v Roma

Man United are a struggling side and Roma have hit top form this season. A Giallorossi win and Donyell Malen to score are the best bets in this Champions League encounter.
