Monaco Finally Beaten


Monaco won their opening five matches this season which included a 2-1 victory at PSG. They got off to a winning start in the Conference League, a 2-1 victory at CSKA Sofia.

Filipe Luis’ side suffered their first defeat on Sunday, a 1-0 loss at Lorient. The Principality club had 58% possession and 15-9 shots but didn’t do enough with them.

First Defeat for Freiburg


Freiburg won eight of their opening nine matches this season, scoring 2+ goals in seven of those victories. They thrashed Motherwell 7-2 in the Conference League playoffs.

The German club kept it going in the league phase, beating Jablonec 3-2 at home. It was largely a comfortable affair, the visitors scoring a consolation goal in the 90th minute.

Julian Schuster’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday. Derry Scherhant opened the scoring but they couldn’t close it out, ending the contest with 1.21-1.64 xG.
