Al Hilal host Shabab Al Ahli in the AFC Champions League Elite at Kingdom Arena, with both teams in excellent attacking form. The main tip is both teams to score and over 2.5 goals, supported by Al Hilal seeing BTTS & over 2.5 goals in six of their last seven home matches and Shabab Al Ahli matching that in their last four away games. Both sides have scored at least twice in the majority of recent fixtures, and previous head-to-head meetings have been competitive. Team news suggests both line-ups will feature key attacking players.

Al Hilal vs Shabab Al Ahli Predictions

Al Hilal host Shabab Al Ahli in Tuesday's AFC Champions League Elite fixture at Kingdom Arena.

The Saudi hosts are short-priced favourites, but Shabab have been in great form, and should make this a competitive and likely high-scoring clash.

I have my stake on BTTS and over 2.5 goals.

Goals Expected in Riyadh

  • Al Hilal have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 7 home matches (AFC Elite, group phase)
  • Al Hilal scored 2+ goals in 6 of their last 8 matches
  • Shabab Al Ahli have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in their last 4 away matches (AFC Elite, group phase)
  • Shabab Al Ahli scored 2+ goals in 6 of their last 7 matches

Level in Recent H2H

Al Hilal and Shabab Al Ahli have met on six occasions since 2015. Both teams won two matches, while two games finished level.

Al Hilal claimed a 3-1 victory when they last hosted Shabab in 2023.

Al Hilal Bounce Back After Qatar Defeat

Al Hilal come into Tuesday's  AFC Champions League Elite contest after a 2-0 win against Al Fateh in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.

Ollie Watkins opened the scoring after 12 minutes before Ruben Neves converted a stoppage-time penalty to wrap up the points.

Simone Inzaghi's side were worthy winners in a one-sided Pro League contest. The Royals dominated the ball with 68% possession while registering 23 shots compared to Al Fateh's four.

That superiority was also reflected in the final xG totals (3.59-0.26).

Saturday's victory provided the perfect response to a disappointing 3-1 AFC Champions League Elite defeat at Al Shamal last Tuesday.

Before that surprise setback, Inzaghi's men had recorded six successive victories, including wins against Al Gharafa (2-1) and Al Sadd (2-0) in their first two AFC Champions League Elite West section fixtures.

High-scoring encounters have been a regular feature of Al Hilal's recent AFC Champions League Elite campaigns. An average of 3.42 goals were scored across their 19 league-phase fixtures over the past three seasons.

Shabab Al Ahli Continue Winning Run

Shabab Al Ahli face back-to-back AFC Elite encounters after a 2-0 home win against Esteghlal last Tuesday.

Mateusau opened the scoring in the 69th minute before Juan Bezerra added a second in the closing stages. Sardar Azmoun put in an impressive display to provide the assists for both goals.

Paulo Sousa's side edged a competitive contest despite registering fewer shots than Esteghlal (8-9). Shabab Al Ahli posted a significantly higher xG total (1.21-0.42), reflecting the greater quality of their opportunities.

Shabab have now won each of their last five matches, while they remain unbeaten in nine fixtures since a UAE Pro League reversal in September.

The Red Knights have made an impressive start to their AFC Champions League Elite campaign, winning all three of their opening fixtures.

The UAE outfit began with a 1-0 victory against Tractor before securing an impressive 2-1 win at Al Ittihad on their previous visit to Saudi Arabia three weeks ago.

Al Hilal vs Shabab Al Ahli Team News

Al Hilal: (4-3-3) Yassine Bounou; Mohammed Mahzari, Hassan Al Tambakti, Kalidou Koulibaly, Theo Hernandez; Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves, Nasser Al Dawsari; Sultan Mandash, Ollie Watkins, Crysencio Summerville.

Al Hilal head coach Simone Inzaghi could retain much of the side that started Saturday's domestic win against Al Fateh.

Gabriel Martinelli missed out last weekend and is unlikely to feature, while Hamad Al Yami is also expected to remain sidelined.

Former Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins will continue to lead the hosts' attack after scoring his sixth goal of the season last time out.

Shabab Al Ahli: (4-2-3-1) Matheus Donelli; Mateus Henrique, Igor Gomes, Wout Faes, Kauan Santos; Saeid Ezatolahi, Nemanja Maksimovic; Jahnoah Markelo, Mohammad Juma, Breno Cascardo; Sardar Azmoun.

Head coach Sousa could make some alterations to the side that began last Tuesday's win against Esteghlal.

Mateusao and Juan Alvina are in contention to earn recalls after goalscoring substitute appearances.

Jahnoah Markelo is the visitors only reported injury issue after he was forced off in the second half of last week's AFC Elite success.

Sardar Azmoun is expected to lead the Al Ahli attack after scoring twice against Al Ittihad last month.

Verdict

Al Hilal have scored regularly this season, while Shabab Al Ahli arrive in Riyadh with three consecutive AFC Elite victories.

I have my stake on a BTTS & over 2.5 goals double in Riyadh.
