The biggest names from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour tee it up at the Renaissance Club in the Genesis Scottish Open from July 9-12 for the latest Rolex Series event.

It is the penultimate event before the Open Championship and the field in headed by Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

Chris Gotterup returns to defend his title after a two-stroke victory over Rory McIlroy and Marco Penge in 2025.

These are our selections that could win the title this weekend.

Jon Rahm

Jon Rahm was in fine form at the beginning of his season on the LIV Golf Tour, recording a 2nd in Riyadh, a 2nd in Adelaide, a victory in Hong Kong, a 5th in Singapore and a 2nd in South Africa before finishing T38 at the Masters.

However, Rahm did not take long to return to form, winning in Mexico City and placing T8 in Virginia, T2 at the PGA Championship, T16 in Korea, and 2nd in Andalucia before missing the cut at the U.S. Open.

The former No. 1 golfer finished T55 at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open.

Rahm has been threatening to register another victory and has claims to the title in Scotland this weekend.

Tyrrell Hatton

Tyrrell Hatton had a mediocre to solid beginning to his season on the DP World Tour and LIV Golf League, finishing T33 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T47 in Riyadh, T3 in Adelaide, T45 in Hong Kong, T10 in Singapore and T38 in South Africa.

Hatton has found another gear since those performances, placing T3 at the Masters, T5 in Mexico City, 17th in Virginia, MC at the PGA Championship, a victory in Andalucia, and T7 at the U.S. Open.

The eight-time DP World Tour winner has made two appearances at the Genesis Scottish Open, finishing T24 in 2022 and T6 in 2023.

Hatton has come good lately and will fancy his chances of pocketing the winner's cheque at the Renaissance Club this weekend.

J.J. Spaun

J.J. Spaun did not have the best run of results at the start of his season on the PGA Tour, finishing T40 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, MC at the Farmers Insurance Open, T45 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, MC at the Genesis Invitational, MC at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T24 at the Players Championship and MC at the Valspar Championship before bouncing back to his best by winning the Valero Texas Open.

However, Spaun has continued to produce solid results since that victory, with results of MC at the Masters, T25 at the RBC Heritage, T14 at the Cadillac Championship, T5 at the Truist Championship, MC at the PGA Championship, T6 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, T12 at the Memorial Tournament, MC at the U.S. Open and T7 at the Travelers Championship.

The former U.S. Open champion has featured twice at the Genesis Scottish Open, finishing T59 in 2022 before missing the cut in 2025.

Spaun has been playing well lately and offers excellent value at the Renaissance Club.

Alex Fitzpatrick

Alex Fitzpatrick was thereabouts at the beginning of his season on the DP World Tour, finishing T19 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, T65 at the Crown Australian Open, T37 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, T19 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T16 at the Bahrain Championship, MC at the Qatar Masters, and T23 at the Magical Kenya Open.

The 27-year-old kicked on after those performances, placing T14 at the Investec South African Open Championship and T6 at the Joburg Open before winning the Hero Indian Open.

Fitzpatrick has carried that form with him onto the PGA Tour, registering a victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a T9 at the Cadillac Championship, a 4th at the Truist Championship, a T75 at the PGA Championship, a T6 at the Memorial Tournament, a T20 at the RBC Canadian Open, a T23 at the U.S. Open, and a T7 at the Travelers Championship in eight events.

The Englishman has yet to make an impact at the Genesis Scottish Open, missing the cut in 2024 and 2025.

Fitzpatrick has been showing signs that he is ready to win again this season and can cause an upset victory in Scotland this weekend.

Verdict

Rahm has been threatening to record another victory and can come out on top in Scotland this weekend.

Hatton is no stranger to winning on links courses and will fancy his chances of lifting the trophy at the Scottish Open this weekend.

Spaun has solid form and can upstage the others with a victory this weekend.

Alex Fitzpatrick has played excellent golf this season and is the long-shot value bet at the Renaissance Club.
