Netherlands vs Norway Women Live Stream & Predictions – Hosts Underestimated at the Handball World Championship 2025
The Netherlands, maintaining an unbeaten record in the tournament, are set to play against Norway with the backing of a sold-out crowd in Rotterdam. While Norway enters as the favorites, the –5.5 handicap appears to be a difficult hurdle for them to overcome.

Netherlands vs Norway Women Match Preview
All things considered, I feel the Netherlands have been underestimated slightly in the handicap market. They are having an excellent tournament so far and will play in front of the home crowd, so even though I don’t doubt Norway’s ability to win this match, I don’t see them covering a –5.5 handicap.

Netherlands Playing in Front of Home Crowd
The Netherlands are hoping to repeat their success from 2019, when they defeated Japan in the grand final to win their first Handball World Championship title.
Oranje enjoyed a flawless preliminary phase, earning convincing victories against Argentina (32-25), Egypt (37-15) and Austria (34-22).
Their strong form continued in the main round, cruising past Tunisia 39-21 and Poland 33-22 before beating France 33-26 in a decisive battle for first place.
The Netherlands had no problems dispatching Hungary 28-23 in the quarterfinals two days ago, building an early 14-9 lead at half-time and managing the game well in the second half. Bo Van Wetering shined with six goals.
Norway are Number One Gold Medal Favorite Now
Norway remain one of the most dominant nations in women’s handball, and in Rotterdam, they are pushing to improve on the silver medal they won in 2023, when they fell 31-28 to France in the final.
Their preliminary round was flawless, producing comfortable wins over South Korea (34-19), Kazakhstan (41-16) and Angola (31-19). They carried that same momentum into the main round, dismantling Sweden 39-26, overpowering the Czech Republic 37-14 and crushing Brazil 33-14 in the battle for top spot.
Montenegro offered little resistance in the quarterfinals on Monday, as Norway took control early and claimed a straightforward 32-23 victory.
Henny Ella Reistad is having an exceptional tournament, scoring 40 goals in 51 attempts so far, while Anniken Wollik follows with 26 goals.
Verdict
The Netherlands remain unbeaten in the tournament and will have a sold-out Rotterdam crowd behind them. Norway are deserved favorites, but I don’t see them covering a –5.5 handicap.
