BC go into this massive playoff matchup on a great run of form, having won 10 of their last 13 games.

The Lions dug themselves into an early hole by losing five of their first seven games, but breathed new life into their playoff quest with a 35-19 win at Winnipeg in late July.

That proved to be the start of a good run that saw them win eight of their next nine games to secure second place in the division and a spot in the postseason.

BC were able to take their foot off the gas over the final two games of the regular season, resulting in a couple of defeats, but they got back to winning ways in the Western semi-final.

The Lions booked their place in the Division final with a 33-26 victory over defending champions Saskatchewan.

Edmonton Elks Won 13 Regular Season Games

Edmonton return to action having enjoyed a first-round bye thanks to their 13-win regular season record.

Postseason football never appeared to be in doubt for the Elks as they produced a consistent campaign that saw them embark on multiple win streaks of three games or more.

They also lost back-to-back games just once, back in early August, and they responded to that with a season-best four-game surge.

Edmonton beat Toronto 42-12 and Winnipeg 22-19 at home, before taking back-to-back meetings with Calgary, 38-28 on the road and 53-15 at home.

The Elks – with little to play for – then wrapped up the regular season by winning three of their final five games to finish 13-5.

Edmonton posted the better regular season record, but it is tough to overlook just how hot the Lions were for several months.

The Lions stacked up wins and covers during the second half of the campaign, and they do boast a strong recent record against the Elks, so we are taking the points in this one.
