BYU Rebounded From First Defeat

BYU go into this big rivalry matchup having bounced back from their first defeat of the season to improve to 7-1.

The Cougars opened the campaign with a 63-7 blowout of Utah Tech, before kicking off their Big 12 slate with a 28-17 win over Arizona.

They then backed up a 41-23 non-conference success at Colorado State with Big 12 victories over TCU, 17-10 on the road, and Iowa State, 24-10 at home.

BYU recorded their biggest win of the season so far on October 17, as they knocked off Notre Dame 28-24, but they were brought back down to Earth with a bump a week later, as they fell 39-31 at UCF.

The Cougars issued an immediate response though, as they downed Arizona State 27-20.

Utah Boast Flawless 8-0 Record

Utah go into this showdown with BYU boasting a 100% record, having won all eight of their games so far.

The Utes kicked off the campaign with three straight non-conference wins, beating Idaho 66-14, Arkansas 43-10 and Utah State 33-0.

They then opened their Big 12 slate on the road, as they downed Iowa State 31-17, and they backed that up as they beat Kansas 41-24 at home, and Colorado 27-24 on the road.

Utah then claimed their biggest win of the season so far as they beat Houston 21-13 on a day where College Gameday rocked up on campus.

There would be no letdown either, as the Utes improved to 8-0 last weekend with a 49-25 victory over Cincinnati.

While it would be foolish to write off BYU, we expect Utah to come out on top in the ‘Holy War’.

The Utes boast a perfect record and have covered in all but one of their games this season.
