Seattle are tipped to cover the spread as they claim the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The Seahawks offense has been firing on all cylinders during the postseason, and it has been clinical inside the redzone.

The defense, meanwhile, continues to pressure, hit and sack quarterbacks consistently, and that spells trouble for Drake Maye, who has been sacked 10 times already in the playoffs.

Seattle Seahawks Riding 9-Game Win Streak

Seattle go into this Super Bowl on a red-hot run of form, having won each of their last nine games and 16 of their 19 games this season.

The Seahawks dropped their opening game of the regular season, 17-13 at home to San Francisco, but they quickly put that behind them as they won seven of their first 10 games to put themselves firmly on course for the postseason.

Their last defeat came back on November 16 when they fell 21-19 at the Los Angeles Rams, and they responded to that loss with a seven-game surge to close out the regular season.

Seattle beat Tennessee 30-24 on the road, and followed that up with a 26-0 shutout of Minnesota at home and a 37-9 blowout of Atlanta on the road.

The Seahawks then wrapped up their regular season home schedule by beating Indianapolis 18-17 and the Los Angeles Rams 38-37 in overtime, before heading out on the road to down Carolina 27-10 and San Francisco 13-3.

That victory over the 49ers secured the number one seed and a Wild Card bye, and when they returned to action in the Division round they destroyed the Niners, winning 41-6.

Seattle then secured their trip to the Super Bowl with a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship.

New England Patriots On 6-Game Surge

New England enter the Super Bowl on a run of six consecutive victories and having won 17 of the 20 games they have played this season.

The Patriots limped out of the blocks as they lost two of their first three games of the regular season, but they responded to those early setbacks in emphatic fashion.

They reeled off 10 consecutive wins before their bye week in the first half of December – a run that included a 23-20 upset of division rivals Buffalo on the road.

New England’s run was finally ended when they returned from the bye with a 35-31 loss at home to Buffalo, but they responded to that loss by closing out the regular season with three consecutive victories.

The Patriots went out on the road to beat Baltimore 28-24 and the New York Jets 42-10, before returning home to wrap up the regular season with a 38-10 blowout of Miami at home.

They remained at home for their first two playoff games too, and they secured a trip to the AFC Championship Game when they followed up a 16-3 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers with a 28-16 win over Houston.

New England then booked their trip to the Super Bowl by grinding out a 10-7 win over the Broncos in difficult conditions in Denver.

Verdict

Drake Maye has earned plenty of plaudits, but this New England offense has not exactly been firing in the postseason.

Seattle’s offense, on the other hand, has been keeping scoreboard operators busy throughout, while the defense has pretty much dominated offenses not led by Matthew Stafford in recent months.

The Seahawks are rightly favourites for the Super Bowl, and we expect them to live up that billing in Santa Clara.
