Sydney claimed a dramatic one-point win in Game 1 and are a victory away from a place in teh NBL Final. I'm backing an improved performance and for the Kings to seal a 2-0 semi-final success.

Perth Wildcats Edged Out In Game 1


Perth were hanging on, trailing by 4 points at the half in Game 1 with Kristian Doolittle being shut down heavily on just four points. 

That changed dramatically in the third with the Wildcat’s centerpiece putting up 19 points alone and out scoring the Kings 31-25. 

With a two-point lead heading into the final quarter the Wildcats came within one point of snatching the opener on enemy soil, however it wasn’t to be.

Doolittle finished the night with 31 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Jo Lual-Acuil hit a standard double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. David Duke Jr. was valuable off the bench with 20 points, six rebounds and eight assists.  

The Cats were strongest under the rim out rebounding the Kings 48-31 with 20 offensive boards giving them plenty of bonus cracks at the basket. 

Sydney Kings A Win Away From The Grand Final


The Kings came up clutch in the final moments of the match and it was Kendric Davis dropping threes and Xavier Cooks putting in the ‘easy baskets’ to ensure that the Kings led by four points into the final minute of the match, stealing it 105-104 in Game 1.

Kendric Davis proved why he was in the MVP fight with the greatest the league has seen, sinking 35 points along with six assists converting five threes on seven attempts, while being clutch down the stretch. 

The difference in this one was the bench of Sydney with Matt Dellavedova starting the match strong and finishing with 11 points and three assists. 

However it was Torrey Craig who played the supporting role to Davis, who was heavily marked, finding space and going for 20 points along with nine rebounds and three assists.
