Adelaide 36ers have won seven in a row and are backed to make that eight on neutral ground in Canberra. The Sixers will expect a reaction from their heavy Round 4 defeat to the Sydney Kings.

Sydney Kings High On Confidence


Round 12 was a positive one for the Kings, who took two wins in 3 days against teams that were higher than them on the later before the round started. 

A dominant second half where they outscored the Wildcats 64-37 ensured a 29-point victory in Perth on Friday, filling the Kings with confidence after two straight losses, which was just what they needed to stop in Melbourne on the way home and get an ugly come from behind victory against United.

The final stages of the match against Melbourne could be some of the worst basketball I have watched with the Kings coming back from 7 points down and forcing overtime. 

The extra period was a tough watch with both teams closing their eyes and throwing the ball at the basket with just 10 points scored in total in the extra 5 minutes given. Sydney got lucky and bury a couple of late baskets to get the victory 92-86.

Adelaide 36ers Looking For 8th Straight Win


The 36ers match against Melbourne in Round 12 almost got away from them after leading by as much as 18 points in the third quarter. 

Adelaide couldn’t buy a basket in the late stages of the match and United outscored them by 14 points in the the fourth quarter to force overtime.

An early 7-point flurry by Cotton before getting fouled out, set the platform for the 36ers in the extra term and they finished what they started with a 114-105 victory, even if it took them a little more time than they would have liked. 

The win was Adelaide’s seventh straight as they took full command over Melbourne at the top of the NBL ladder with an extra win and two games in hand. 

The 36ers are doing everything right at both ends of the court, ranked first in offensive rating while giving up the third-least amount of points to their opponents at 86.3 per game.

Verdict

Adelaide to win with Bryce Cotton backed to lead the 36ers to victory with 25+ points and 8+ assists. Kendric Davis can also hit the 25-point mark for the Kings.
