Launched in 2013, TopBetta has made a name for itself by combining a traditional bookmaker service and the newer craze of big money pool betting tournaments.
It is fully licensed in the Northern Territory, Australia by the Northern Territory Racing Commission under a Sports Bookmaker Licence to accept bets via the internet. For SA residents, it’s governed by the South Australian Responsible Gambling Code of Practice.

Aside from Aussie rules and rugby league, you have basketball action from the NBL, NBA, EuroCup and South Korea’s KBL. Market depth is a little thin compared to some other bookmakers. Each game offers match result and totals, O/U points, handicaps, doubles and team markets.

Our TopBetta review found that this site’s prices could do with being beefed up a little. In all of the 5 events, it was behind Ladbrokes Australia. Although, we must factor in the Price Bump that you get here and we didn’t compare any racing - which is TopBetta’s strength.

Australians love their racing and TopBetta has a good selection to choose from. It offers markets on all Australian thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing, plus a variety of international markets from New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Hong Kong among others.
For local races, there’s an impressive range of betting markets including fixed odds, top and mid tote from NSW/S-TAB/Tatts and global tote in addition to the regular exotics: quinella, exacta, trifecta and first four. You can also take advantage of the GOAT Price Bump feature on these cards which means you get even more value for your money on winning punts. Whilst there’s no tote betting on overseas races, you still have the options on fixed odds win or place and SP win or place to choose from.
Another nice feature of the racing coverage at this online bookmaker is the detailed form guides. At the top of the card, there’s a ‘form’ button that provides an overview of the race whilst offering a few runners worthy of keeping an eye open for. Next to that there’s the horse speedmap display. You can then click on a runner to reveal a wealth of information such as previous form, results on different surfaces and under different conditions plus lots more.
What TopBetta doesn’t seem to offer are future markets. It has betting on all of Australia’s biggest races like the Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup, Victorian Derby, Turnbull Stakes and Golden Slipper but it doesn’t provide ante-post markets months in advance for them.
