Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis Odds – Benn 1/10 To Win Zuffa Boxing Debut
British welterweight star Conor Benn is making waves by leaving Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing for Zuffa Boxing, led by UFC's Dana White. He is set to face Regis Prograis on April 11 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With bettors backing Benn as a 1/10 favorite, he’s poised for a triumphant return. However, Prograis, a seasoned competitor with a record of 30 wins in 33 fights, is determined to upset the odds. With high stakes and a payday of over £10 million for Benn, this fight is capturing the boxing world's attention.
- Conor Benn signed a one-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing
- Benn faces Regis Prograis on April 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
- Benn is a heavy favourite; Prograis is a 6/1 underdog
Conor Benn is a big odds-on favourite for his first fight since signing with Zuffa Boxing.
Benn shocked the boxing world earlier this month when he ditched promotion Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing for the fledgling group led by UFC president Dana White.
The 29-year-old put pen-to-paper on a one-fight deal worth in excess of £10million, and that one fight will see him return to the welterweight division to take on former would light-welterweight champion Regis Prograis.
The bout will take place on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s comeback fight on April 11, with Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the setting for the night’s action.
“My last fight showed the world exactly who I am and what I'm about,” said Benn, who is coming off a huge decision win over Chris Eubank Jr at middleweight. “Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest shows, I fear no-one.”
Benn sees Prograis, 37, as the next step in his quest to become welterweight champion of the world, and the bookmakers expect the British fighter to get the job done, with bet365 installing him as a 1/10 favourite.
Prograis is a seasoned campaigner with 30 wins in 33 professional contests, and he is no stranger to high profile fights, having previously shared the ring with the likes of Josh Taylor, Devin Haney and Jack Catterall.
The 37-year-old American enters this contest on the back of a unanimous decision win over Joseph Diaz last summer, and he has vowed to ruin Benn’s first outing under the Zuffa Boxing banner.
“Last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my undercard,” said Prograis. “So this is a full-circle moment for me. But this circle will close with me teaching him a lesson. He's not fighting some weight-drained super middleweight. I am in shape and will bring home this victory.”
The bookies do not share the American’s confidence though, as bet365 consider him a 6/1 underdog for the contest.
