Team Liquid and Deep Cross Gaming face off in the MSI 2026 play-in lower bracket after both suffered disappointing 0-3 losses in their opening matches. Although Team Liquid are seen as favorites due to stronger opponents and standout performances from some players, neither team has inspired much confidence so far. Deep Cross Gaming, in particular, showed weak macro play in their first match, making them the underdogs. The match may be closer than expected, with Team Liquid likely to win, but Deep Cross has the potential to take a map.

Team Liquid vs Deep Cross Gaming Betting Predictions

Team Liquid and Deep Cross Gaming will fight for survival in the Mid-Season Invitational 2026, when they clash in the lower bracket of the play-in stage.
Both teams kicked off the tournament with a 0-3 loss. Team Liquid had to admit defeat to T1, while Deep Cross Gaming got run over by Karmine Corp. Admittedly, Liquid had to deal with a much more potent opponent, but their performances on the day did not inspire much confidence.

On paper, this is Liquid’s game to lose, but this is a flawed team who have not shown anything inspiring so far, making them a tough sell as heavy favourites.

  • Team Liquid are billed as favourites
  • Both teams failed to impress in Round 1
  • Liquid should win, but it won’t be pretty

Team Liquid Look Rough

Team Liquid started their Mid-Season Invitational campaign with a 0-3 loss against T1 on Sunday. It was an expected result, so Liquid deserve some slack for losing the series; however, they’ve also not shown anything inspiring.

Top laner Morgan had a standout performance and was the clear best team on Liquid, holding his own against T1’s Doran. Jungler Josedeodo has also left a very positive mark, but the rest of the team failed to show much.

It is hard to judge Team Liquid based on one game, let alone a game against one of the world’s best teams. However, they have also failed to produce much to suggest that Liquid will have an easy time on Monday.

Deep Cross Gaming Struggled in Round 1

Deep Cross Gaming suffered a crushing loss on Sunday, in the opening round of the MSI 2026 Play-In stage, when they got smoked by LEC’s Karmine Corp. It was a very one-sided game with Deep Cross Gaming failing to find any openings.

In Deep Cross’ defence, Karmine Corp played exceptionally well, leaving the LCP representatives with a tough task of trying to keep themselves in the game. Their biggest issue was terrible macro, which Karmine Corp took full advantage of.

Overall, not a good look for Deep Cross Gaming in their debut appearance at the MSI.

Verdict

Deep Cross Gaming and Team Liquid both struggled in the first round of MSI. T1 did, however, face a stronger team (on paper), which can be used as an argument that they should do better on Monday.

Moreover, Deep Cross Gaming’s macro was seriously worrying, and with such performance, it is hard to make a solid case for them and their chances of beating Liquid.

This is Liquid’s game to lose, but knowing that Liquid are a bit volatile and with weaknesses Deep Cross can exploit, it is not beyond the realms of possibility for the underdogs to take a map.
