Everton, buoyed by recent positive performances, are proving difficult adversaries. Their newfound confidence contrasts sharply with Liverpool's recent struggles away from home, particularly against lower mid-table opponents. As such, there's value in betting on a home double chance, which implies Everton securing either a win or a draw. The analysis suggests Everton has the upper hand in maintaining their form, making it a potentially challenging encounter for Liverpool. This football showdown promises to deliver excitement and unpredictability.

Everton Pushing for Europe

Everton are eighth in the Premier League and sit just one point behind the top six. The Toffees have climbed into European contention after taking 10 points from five games.

David Moyes’ side have won their last two at home, beating Burnley 2-0 and Chelsea 3-0. Everton controlled both games and allowed -1 XG in each victory.

The Toffees came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw at Brentford on Saturday. Beto cancelled out Brentford’s early opener and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck a 91st-minute equaliser.

Liverpool Out of Form on the Road

Arne Slot’s Liverpool have struggled away and lost five of their previous six on the road in all competitions. The Reds are also on a four-match losing streak away.

Defeats came at Galatasaray 1-0, Brighton 2-1, Man City 4-0 and PSG 2-0. Liverpool hit back with a 2-0 home win against Fulham after the March internationals.

The Merseyside outfit couldn’t build on that triumph and lost 2-0 at home against PSG in the Champions League. Liverpool struggled to score with 1.97 XG and conceded two goals in the final 20 minutes.

Verdict

Everton are tough to play against and look confident after some positive recent results. Liverpool have lost recent away games to lower mid-table opponents and a home double chance bet has value.
