Despite their struggles, Newcastle has shown little improvement in their recent matches. Conversely, Man United continues to demonstrate their prowess as one of the Premier League's leading teams. An away win for Man United carries significant potential, with a 2.63 betting value suggested for 2 units. The recommended conclusion for bettors is to place their confidence in a victory for Man United, given their current form and Newcastle's ongoing difficulties.

H2H - Man United on Top

Man United have a 93-48 advantage against Newcastle, alongside 41 draws.

Newcastle on the Decline

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have fallen from European contention to 13th in the Premier League. The Magpies are winless in six of their last seven league fixtures, losing five.

The Tyneside outfit have been particularly poor at St James’ Park, losing their last four domestic matches at home.

Newcastle lost 2-0 to Man City in the EFL Cup and against Aston Villa 2-0 and Brentford 3-2. They allowed over 1.15 XG in each defeat.

The Toon’s poor run of form at home continued with a 3-2 loss to Everton. Jacob Ramsey and Jacob Murphy pulled Newcastle level twice but the Toon conceded an 83rd-minute winner.

Man United Are in Top EPL Form

Michael Carrick has led Man United up to third in the Premier League after big recent improvements. United are the most in-form team in the league, sealing 19 points from the last 21 available.

The Red Devils have beaten Man City 2-0, Arsenal 3-2, Tottenham 2-0 and Everton 1-0 during their purple patch.

Carrick’s side notched their sixth win in seven after a 2-1 comeback home win over Crystal Palace. United conceded early, hit back with 2.16 XG and Bruno Fernandes and Benjamin Sesko scored in the second half.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Newcastle (4-3-3): Nick Pope; Kieran Trippier, Malick Thiaw, Dan Burn, Lewis Hall; Joelinton, Sandro Tonali, Joe Willock; Anthony Elanga, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes

Midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is sidelined until April with a hamstring issue. Defenders Emil Krafth, Fabian Schar and Tino Livramento and midfielder Lewis Miley are also injured.

Attacker Jacob Ramsey is expected to feature after illness, but Nick Woltemade is unlikely to play due to the same issue. Eddie Howe gave a pre-match update on the striker and said, "Jacob Ramsey was in yesterday, trained fine so a quick recovery from him.

“There's an illness, potentially, in the squad because Nick Woltemade has gone down ill and we haven't seen him for a couple of days but we will give him every chance for tomorrow.”

Man United (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw; Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo; Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha; Benjamin Sesko

Centre-back Lisandro Martinez is an injury doubt. Attacker Patrick Dorgu, defender Matthijs de Ligt and midfielder Mason Mount are ruled out through injury.

Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are likely to feature against Newcastle despite a recent illness. Michael Carrick was hopeful the defenders would recover in time for Wednesday’s match and said, “They (Shaw and Maguire) just weren't feeling too well, so hopefully they will be feeling better soon.”

Verdict

Newcastle are unconvincing and have shown few signs of ending their poor run of form. Man United are one of the best Premier League teams currently and an away win has value here.
