Wolves Rarely Win in the EPL

Rob Edwards’ Wolves are bottom of the Premier League table and 14 points from safety. The Midlands side have lost 20 games and conceded 50 goals this season.

The Old Gold were on a seven-match winless run in the Premier League, losing four. They lost against Bournemouth 2-0 and Chelsea 3-1 and drew 2-2 with Arsenal at home during this run.

Wolves then lost 1-0 at Crystal Palace, allowed 2 XG, 61% possession and faced 14 shots.

Wanderers recovered to seal a rare win at home against Aston Villa on Friday. Joao Gomes and Rodrigo Gomes struck in the final 30 minutes.

Liverpool Are Dangerous in Attack

Liverpool are one of the most creative attacking sides in the Premier League, averaging 1.74 XG per game. The Reds have scored 47 goals in 28 matches.

Arne Slot’s side have improved recently, winning six of their previous seven in all competitions, scoring 21 goals.

The Merseyside team have won their last three league games, starting with 1-0 victories at Sunderland and Nottingham Forest. Liverpool had over 1.73 XG in those victories.

Slot’s outfit continued their winning streak with a one-sided 5-2 home triumph against West Ham. Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister scored in the first half and Cody Gakpo added a fourth in the 70th minute.

Winger Enso Gonzalez is ruled out with a knee issue.

Florian Wirtz is unavailable due to a lower back problem. Arne Slot confirmed the midfielder’s absence for the Wolves game and said. “The game tomorrow probably will come too soon and maybe the game at the weekend.

“Let’s see how that ends up but we hope to have him back somewhere next week.”

Verdict

Wolverhampton v Liverpool

Liverpool will be eager to continue their strong upturn in form against bottom-of-the-table Wolves. The Reds have been ruthless in attack recently and can secure a high-scoring Premier League victory.
