Kashiwa Reysol face Daejeon Hana Citizen in the AFC Champions League Elite, with Kashiwa tipped to win and over 1.5 goals predicted. Kashiwa recently secured a convincing 4-0 win over Urawa Red Diamonds and have won seven of their last ten matches. Daejeon have failed to score in their last two games and have collected four points from their opening three group fixtures, matching Kashiwa's tally. Both sides are set for their first-ever meeting, but Kashiwa's strong home form and attacking record provide the main basis for the selection.

Kashiwa Reysol vs Daejeon Predictions

Kashiwa Reysol face Daejeon Hana Citizen in Tuesday's AFC Champions League Elite encounter.

The hosts return to action after a convincing 4-0 win against Urawa, while Daejeon have failed to score in their last two matches.

I'm backing Kashiwa to win with over 1.5 goals scored.

Kashiwa Backed to Make Home Advantage Count

  • Kashiwa won 7 of their last 10 matches
  • Kashiwa have seen over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 12 matches
  • Daejeon Hana have seen over 2.5 goals in 12 of their last 17 matches

Kashiwa Reysol and Daejeon Hana Set For First Encounter

Kashiwa Reysol and Daejeon Hana will meet for the first time on Tuesday.

Kashiwa Blast Past Urawa

Kashiwa Reysol return to continental action after an impressive 4-0 home victory against Urawa Red Diamonds in the J1 League.

Yoshio Koizumi opened the scoring in the first half before Kenshin Yuba doubled Kashiwa's advantage midway through the second period. Tojiro Kubo and Wataru Harada added late goals to complete a convincing victory for the home side.

The final scoreline was a little flattering for Reysol. Ricardo Rodriguez’s side enjoyed just 47% possession and registered fewer shots (16-21), but were far more clinical in front of goal, hitting the target nine times compared to Urawa's one.

The hosts also recorded a slightly lower xG total (1.28-1.45).

Saturday's victory came on the back of a goalless draw at Ratchaburi in their previous AFC Champions League Elite encounter.

Rodriguez's men have now lost just once in their last five matches, although their continental form has been less convincing.

Kashiwa have collected four points from their opening three AFC Champions League Elite fixtures, including a dominant 5-1 home win against Port FC last month.

Daejeon Held Against Jeonbuk

Daejeon Hana Citizen return to AFC Champions League Elite action after a goalless draw against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the K League on Saturday.

Both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances in a tight K League 1 clash.

Hwang Sun-hong's side enjoyed 49% possession, with both teams registering eight shots and two attempts on target.

Saturday's stalemate followed a disappointing 1-0 home defeat against Vissel Kobe in the AFC Champions League Elite.

Hwang's men have now failed to score in their last two matches.

Daejeon had previously recorded back-to-back domestic victories against Gimcheon Sangmu (2-1) and Gwangju (3-2), after a 1-1 continental draw at Shanghai Port.

The visitors have collected four points from their opening three AFC Champions League Elite fixtures.

Kashiwa Reysol vs Daejeon Team News

Kashiwa: (3-4-2-1) Kengo Nagai; Wataru Harada, Tomoya Inukai, Daiki Sugioka; Kenshin Yuba, Sachiro Toshima, Nobuteru Nakagawa, Keita Endo; Yoshio Koizumi, Makoto Mitsuta; Yuki Kakita.

Kashiwa head coach Ricardo Rodriguez is unlikely to make too many changes following Saturday's convincing victory against Urawa.

The hosts have some injury issues, with Kohei Tezuka, Yuto Yamada, Tomoaki Okubo, Koki Kumasaka and Seiya Baba expected to remain sidelined.

Tojiro Kubo and Mao Hosoya are in contention for starting roles after appearing from the bench at the weekend.

Daejeon: (4-2-3-1) Lee Chang-geun; Kim Moon-hwan, Jo Seong-kwon, Anton Kryvotsiuk, Lee Myeong-jae; Kang Yun-sung, Kim Bong-soo; Eom Won-sang, Seo Jin-su, Gustav Ludwigson; Joo Min-kyu.

Daejeon head coach Hwang Sun-hong has no reported injury issues ahead of the trip to Japan.

Diogo Oliveira could earn a recall after the Brazilian appeared as a second-half substitute against Jeonbuk on Saturday.

Diogo has scored one goal in this season's AFC Elite campaign.

Verdict

Kashiwa have a strong recent record, and they should prove too strong for their K League 1 opponents on Tuesday.

I have my stake on a home win with at least two goals expected in Japan.
