Head To Head

This will be the 52nd Melbourne derby in the A-League, with Victory holding a slight 19-16 advantage alongside 16 draws.

Victory have won the last two encounters.

Melbourne Victory Form Analysis

It's been a busy last couple of weeks for Victory.

They were stunned in the Australia Cup final by South Melbourne and have also begun their ACL 2 campaign, drawing with Viettel FC away before a big 3-0 win over FC Seoul last week.

That amount of football so early in the season may have caught up to Victory as they were upstaged 2-1 by Wellington last Sunday at Sky Stadium.

Nduka managed to level the scores after Corban Piper's early opener, but Victory couldn't hold on and as Riley Bidois netted the winner for the Nix with 13 minutes remaining.

Melbourne City Form Analysis

It wasn't a great start to the season for City.

Aurellio Vidmar's side made the trip across the Tasman to face reigning premiers Auckland and they were no match for the Black Knights, going down 3-1 in front of 20,000+ fans.

Quinn Macnicol impressed in the No. 10 role and his lively performance was rewarded with the equalising goal in the first half, one of four total shots.

However, City were decidedly second-best and some invididual brilliance from Lachie Bayliss and a late Lachie Brook strike condemned them to an opening defeat.

Verdict

Both teams are tipped to find the back of the net in a score-draw on Saturday night.
