Chelsea vs Tottenham Preview

Chelsea are building winning form in the Premier League and have had two solid results back to back. Tottenham still look off the pace this season and the Blues can take advantage with a home win.

Key Stats - Blues on the Up

  • Chelsea have won 6 consecutive EPL matches against Tottenham.
  • Tottenham have lost 3 of their last 5 away games.

H2H - Chelsea Dominate

Chelsea have an 83-56 advantage against Tottenham, alongside 42 draws.

Chelsea Rising Up the Premier League

Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea have climbed into the Premier League’s top four following recent wins.

The Blues were in patchy form before the international break and dropped points in three consecutive games. Defeats at Arsenal 2-1 and Brentford 3-0 came either side of a 2-2 home draw with Hull.

The west Londoners replied by thumping Bournemouth 5-1 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had six shots on target and Jordan Henderson and Joao Pedro both scored braces.

Alonso’s outfit continued their winning run with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Everton. The Blues were in control with 1.47-0.43  XG and Pedro Neto struck twice after half time.

Tottenham Poor on the Road This Season

Tottenham are winless in seven of their nine matches in all competitions in 2026/27. They have failed to win in all four away games, losing twice and scoring just two goals.

Spurs started the Premier League campaign with a 3-0 defeat at Brentford and a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest. A 3-1 away loss in the EFL Cup followed before Tottenham fell to a 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side returned from the international break with a 1-1 draw at Man United. Dominic Solanke scored in the 92nd minute to salvage a point.

The north Londoners secured their first league victory of the season on Monday, beating Coventry 3-1 at home. James Maddison, Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies scored and Spurs had 0.86 XG.

Emiliano Martinez had a head injury in the Everton match and is unlikely to recover here. Xabi Alonso issued a post-match update on the goalkeeper and said:

“As far as I know, he left the stadium conscious. Now he is in the hospital doing precautionary tests. Let’s see, but this is what I know so far.”

Roberto De Zerbi explained that the trio had avoided serious injuries and said, “I think there are no injuries, nothing important.”

Verdict

Chelsea are a top Premier League side stacked with quality. The Blues can maintain their winning streak with a home win against struggling Tottenham.
