Norrkoping were relegated from Allsvenskan to Superettan last season and their results have been very good so far, sitting in first place with 26 points after 13 rounds while having the best defensive stats in the league.   

Eldar Abdulic’s side is currently on a red-hot five-game winning streak, starting June with a 2-1 road victory against 8th placed Oddevold, followed by a 2-0 home win against at-that-time table leaders Varbergs. 

Last weekend, Norrkoping faced Ostersunds on the road and claimed another 2-0 victory. Ryan Nelson broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, while Christoffer Nyman finished the job right after the break. 

Norrby Struggling in Tier Two 


Norrby were promoted from tier three division to Superettan last season and judging by the early days will be in the relegation danger this year, claiming just 11 points in 13 matches. 

They suffered three consecutive defeats earlier this month, losing to Osters 2-1, Varbergs 2-0 and Oddevold 2-0, registering just eight shots on target across these matches. 

Their losing run was finally put to an end last weekend with a goalless draw against Nordic United at home. Norrby were the inferior side here with 43% possession and 8-16 shots.

Midfielder Stephen Bolma is out for the home side due to knee surgery, while striker Kylian Seka is doubtful. 

Norrby have no reported injuries or suspensions ahead of this match. Their manager Tobias Linderoth is under a lot of pressure due to recent poor results. 

Verdict

Norrby didn’t score a single goal in their last four games and are likely to battle against relegation. I don’t see them doing any damage to the current table leaders and best defensive team in the league Norrkoping.
