Sekhukhune United vs Polokwane City Betting Tips - Polokwane to secure a point away in PSL clash

Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City are set for a closely contested match, with both sides displaying a tendency to draw in recent games. Sekhukhune have seen under 2.5 goals in 17 of their last 18 home matches and Polokwane have drawn 4 of their last 5 PSL outings. With both teams lacking consistent wins and key players potentially missing, a 1-1 draw appears to be the most probable outcome. Both predicted lineups and recent form suggest another stalemate is highly likely.

  • Both teams have drawn multiple recent matches, with Polokwane drawing 4 of last 5.
  • Key stats predict a low-scoring, evenly matched contest likely ending in a draw.
  • Predicted score is 1-1, as both sides lack winning consistency and have notable absentees.

Polokwane are draw specialists, whilst Sekhukhune are struggling to win games consistently. I see this finishing in a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.

Key Stats - Evenly Matched Sides

  • Sekhukhune United have seen Under 2.5 goals in 17 of their last 18 home matches.
  • Sekhukhune United have drawn 2 of their last 4 PSL matches.
  • Polokwane City have drawn 4 of their last 5 PSL matches.
  • Polokwane have seen BTTS Yes in their last 3 matches.

Sekhukhune Hold Narrow Lead

In eight previous meetings, there have been four draws, three Sekhukhune wins and just one victory for Polokwane City.

Sekhukhune Slowly Regaining Form

Sekhukhune’s last 13 fixtures last season in all competitions only saw two wins. They have two wins and a loss this season far.

A 1-1 draw at Richards Bay was followed by a 2-2 draw at home vs Siwelele on the final day. They beat Durban City 1-0 to start this season despite having just 38% ball possession.

Last Sunday, they won 4-3 at AmaZulu in the MTN8. In midweek, Babina Noko lost 2-0 at Kaizer Chiefs with just 0.40 xG produced.

One Win in Eight for Polokwane City

Polokwane scored just 21 goals last season on the way to a top eight finish. Their last eight matches have yielded just one victory.

After successive 0-0 draws, they drew 1-1 at home vs Marumo Gallants to finish last season. This term started with a 2-1 win at Richards Bay with 1.84 xG produced.

Last Saturday, they had just 20% possession and allowed 30in a 3-2 extra-time defeat at Mamelodi Sundowns. In midweek, they came from 2-1 down to draw 3-3 at home to Stellenbosch in a thriller.

Predicted Lineups & News

Sekhukhune United (4-2-3-1): Buthelezi; Mashiloane, Cardoso, Matsimbi, Kazeem; Mkhize, Khupe; Ramabu, Mokhoane, Rammala; Ndlovu.

Left back Vuyo Letlapa is out injured. Powerful forward Chibuike Ohizu is awaiting his work permit after rejoining the club.

Mokibelo Ramabu is pushing for a first start down the right wing. Mcedi Vandala is set to be left out after lasting just 20 minutes as a substitute in midweek before being hauled off.

Polokwane City (4-2-3-1): Mathebula; Mathosi, Nkaki, Ramaja, Modise; Kambala, Maphangule; Daniels, Mnguni, Philander; Molokwane.

Polokwane could again be without key right back Thabang Matuludi. The coach has denied an imminent transfer departure but is leaving his captain out of the squad.

Goalkeeper Lindokuhle Mathebula shook off an injury to start the last match. Raymond Daniels is pushing for a start after scoring from the bench in midweek.
