Arizona State head to Texas with a winning record, but having made an inconsistent start to the season at 3-2.

The Sun Devils opened with a 70-7 demolition of an overmatched Morgan State team, but failed to build on that a week later.

They held their own during the first half at Texas A&M, only to suffer a second-half collapse that resulted in a 48-20 defeat.

Arizona State rebounded a week later with a 24-17 win over Kansas in an historic matchup at Wembley Stadium in London, but again failed to follow up a victory as they lost 55-19 to Baylor.

The Sun Devils put that behind them last Saturda though, as they downed Hawaii at home, 30-12.

Texas Tech Boast Unbeaten 5-0 Record

Texas Tech return from their weekend off boasting a perfect record, having won all five of their games so far.

The Red Raiders kicked off the campaign with a 33-10 victory at home to Abilene Christian.

They followed that up a week later with a 35-24 victory at Oregon State to go into their Big 12 opener with a 2-0 record.

Texas Tech kept their perfect start going as they beat Houston 28-26 at home, and followed that up a week later with a 49-14 blowout of Sam Houston in non-conference action.

The Red Raiders then made it to 5-0 – and 2-0 in the Big 12 – when they returned to conference duty last time out to beat Colorado 29-7 on the road.

Verdict

Arizona State @ Texas Tech

Arizona State are having issues on both sides of the football, and that can be their downfall here.

Texas Tech’s offense can pile up points and the defense can force the Sun Devils into back-breaking mistakes, resulting in a win and cover for the home team.
