Edmonton enter the new season looking to build on a decent end to the 2025 campaign that saw them finish 7-11.
The Elks dug themselves into an early hole as they lost their opening three games of the season, and they then failed to build on a 39-33 win over Ottawa as they lost three straight.
That left them 1-6 in early August, but they breathed some life into their season over the next few weeks as they upset Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa to get back into the playoff race.
Edmonton’s form stalled as they won just three of the next four, effectively ending their chances of reaching the postseason.
The Elks did manage to win two of their final four games of the regular season though.

Ottawa enter the new campaign having made some significant changes during the offseason.
The Redblacks named Ryan Dinwiddie as head coach and general manager, and he has made Jake Maier the starting quarterback for this season.
The changes were made in the wake of a dreadful 2025 campaign that saw them finish just 4-14.
Ottawa simply never got in the postseason picture as they opened the season by losing six of their first seven games.
The Redblacks did show some life with three wins in the next five, only to then close out the regular season with six consecutive defeats.

It has been all change in Ottawa in the offseason, and we expect improvement this year.
