Argentina U20 have impressed at the 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship, recording emphatic wins over Ireland and the USA to top Pool C with 140 points scored across two games. England have also performed well but have struggled for consistency against top sides, conceding 67 points in two matches. As both teams vie for a semi-final spot, Argentina appear to have better balance and scoring power, leading experts to back them to cover the +6.5 handicap and secure a crucial win against England.

  • Argentina U20 top Pool C with 140 points scored in 2 games.
  • England U20 lack consistency against top teams, conceding 67 points.
  • Argentina favored to cover the +6.5 handicap and clinch a crucial win.

Both teams have looked good at the tournament to date but Argentina just look to have better overall balance. I am leaning toward them to upset the odds.

Key Stats - Argentina in Good Form

  • Argentina have won 4 of their last 6 fixtures.
  • Argentina have scored 140 points in 2 matches.
  • England have won 4 of their last 6 matches.
  • England have conceded 67 points in 2 games.

Argentina U20 Improving with each Match

Argentina produced another dominant performance at the 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship, thrashing Ireland 62-40 after leading 31-7 at the break.

Before that result, Los Pumitas thumped the United States in their opening match of the tournament, winning 78-14.

Argentina occupy first place in Pool C with ten points from two matches.

Argentina have been in tremendous touch and have scored plenty of tries so far, giving them the edge needed to beat England in a crucial World Rugby U20 Championship group stage match and advance to the semi-finals.

England U20 Struggling for Consistency against Big Teams

England were too good for the United States in their second match at the 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship last weekend, winning 68-40 after leading 42-14 at half-time.

Earlier in the tournament, England came out on top in their match against Ireland, winning 34-27.

England are second in Pool C with ten points after two rounds.

England must beat Argentina to secure their place in the semi-finals, but they will find the going tough, as their opponents have scored 140 points in the tournament so far.
