Belgium vs France Live Stream & Tips – French Defense to Deliver in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers

Belgium has consistently struggled to score throughout the qualifiers, and that trend likely continues tonight against a strong, physical French team. Analysts predict a defensive showdown with a total point tally below 159.5. Fans should expect a low-scoring, competitive match as Belgium's offensive woes meet France's tough defense, which is likely to limit scoring opportunities for both teams.

Match Preview

This Group G clash sees Belgium host France, with the hosts needing a victory to keep their slim qualification hopes alive. The French side is tagged massive favorite after multiple star players were added to the roster.

Belgium Likely to Miss World Cup 2027

Belgium’s chances of reaching the next stage of the FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers have been reduced to a minimum, securing zero victories in the opening four rounds, so in theory they need to beat both France and Hungary convincingly to advance.

Only the opening loss to France 79-63 was convincing, followed by tight encounters against Hungary 87-85 and Finland 71-66.

Belgium’s efforts to end this losing streak in another clash against Finland in early March were unsuccessful, losing 78-75 in Helsinki in dramatic fashion. Loic Schwartz was their standout performer with 19 points and four rebounds.

France Already Through to the Second Phase

France have shown two different faces so far in the qualifiers but have already clinched a spot in the next phase thanks to a 3-1 record.

They looked amazing in their home appearances, crushing Belgium 79-63 and, most recently, Hungary 98-79, while a lot of problems were revealed on their trips, getting beaten by Finland 83-75, while edging past Hungary 74-71 as massive favorites.

It’s worth adding they will have a significantly stronger roster for these upcoming matches, with Rudy Gobert, Alexandre Sarr, Jaylen Hoard, Nadir Hifi and a couple of other big names joining the national team.

Verdict

Belgium’s biggest problem throughout the qualifiers has been scoring, and I don’t expect that to change against the very physical French team. I am predicting fewer than 159.5 points tonight.
