Bonn finished the regular season in 4th place with a 21-13 record. Their final league game ended in a heavy 102-83 defeat against Bamberg, although that result had no impact on their playoff position. 

Unlike Bayern, Bonn were pushed to the limit in the quarterfinals and eventually eliminated Wurzburg 3-2 after a highly competitive series. The deciding Game 5 was played at home, where they struggled badly offensively in the first half, scoring just 22 points before recovering after the break to secure a dramatic 66-63 victory. Game 2 was a completely different story, with the Bavarians building a huge advantage in the first half and leading by 23 points at the break before cruising to a 91-69 win. Xavier Rathan-Mayes led the way with 20 points.
