Playing in Tuzla against Bosnia & Herzegovina is always challenging due to their passionate supporters. Despite missing key players like Musa and Nurkic, Bosnia nearly defeated top-ranked Turkey, showcasing their strength at home. With this impressive form and a tough venue for visitors, backing Bosnia & Herzegovina to win against Italy in the qualifiers offers genuine value. The recommendation is clear: the home team is capable of pulling off a victory.

Match Preview

Anything but a win here would lower Bosnia & Herzegovina's qualifying hopes to a minimum, while Italy have a lot of breathing space after winning a majority of their games in the previous phase.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Fighting for Survival

Bosnia & Herzegovina's chances of reaching the Mundobasket next year are not looking great after winning just two out of their six qualifying games in the previous phase.

Dario Gjergja's side are now facing a must-win situation in Tuzla, while there are multiple problems around their roster. Star player Dzanan Musa is recovering from an injury, so a lot of the burden will be on the shoulders of NBA veteran Jusuf Nurkic and Luka Garza.

Bosnia & Herzegovina looked great defensively in their recent friendly clash against Poland, claiming a 69-60 victory in front of the home crowd and allowing just 26 points in the first half.

Italy Looking to Continue Their Strong Run

Italy have made a massive step towards qualifying for the big tournament next year after securing five victories in six games in the previous stage.

Azzurri started their campaign with a shocking loss to Iceland, but then stepped up and won five games in a row, beating Lithuania and Great Britain twice, then also earning a revenge win in Reykjavik in convincing fashion, 102-83.

They travelled to Tuzla with a solid roster, led by Simone Fontecchio, Darius Thompson, Nicolo Melli, rising star Saliou Niang and a couple of other sound names.

Italy faced Estonia in a friendly match earlier this week and claimed a commanding 83-61 victory.

Verdict

Playing against Bosnia & Herzegovina on the road is never easy, especially in Tuzla, where the crowd can be quite electrifying. They were so close to beating top performers Turkey in these qualifiers even without Musa and Nurkic, so I see value in backing the home side to beat Italy.
