Turkey Maintaining Their Perfect Record
Turkey were one of the best performers in the previous FIBA World Championship 2027 qualifying phase and are probably just one or two wins away from clinching a spot in Qatar.
The Crescent Stars were victorious in all six games, beating Switzerland, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia twice to finish top of the group.
They can't count on their star player Alperen Sengun and Tarik Biberovic in this qualifying window, though, but coach Ergin Ataman still has a lot of players at his disposal in all positions.
Turkey participated in the DBB Supercup mini tournament recently, losing to Croatia 95-94 in the semifinals, then beating the Czech Republic 99-84.
Lithuania Facing an Uphill Battle
Lithuania's chances of making it to Mundobasket 2027 are not looking great after finishing the previous qualifying stage with a 3-3 record, currently sitting in 4th place in Group J.
A lot of star players didn't respond to Rimas Kurtinaitis' call, so a lot of the burden will be on Zalgiris' guards Azoulas Tubelis and Marek Blazevic.
The Yellow and Greens played a series of friendly matches in the last ten days, first losing to Estonia 110-108 in overtime, then to Arizona University 88-74, while beating Michigan 96-84 in their final test game.
