Valencia vs Joventut Game 2 Live Stream & Tips – Oranges to Cover in ACB Liga Semifinals
Valencia overcame a shaky defensive performance to claim victory in Game 1 of their series against Joventut. While defensive improvements are needed, Valencia’s deeper bench gives them a significant advantage over the short-handed Joventut. The key recommendation is to expect Valencia to leverage their squad depth and home-court to outlast and outperform Joventut, covering the handicap in the upcoming Game 2.

Match Preview
Valencia drew first blood in this ACB Liga semifinal series after edging Joventut in a thrilling Game 1. The visitors pushed the favourites all the way, but now face another difficult challenge against one of the deepest rosters in Spain.
Valencia Looking to Build on the Series Lead
After finishing the regular season in 2nd place with a 25-9 record, the Oranges struggled in the quarterfinal opener against Bilbao at home but ultimately escaped with an 83-80 victory before finishing the job on the road with a much more convincing 88-71 win. Kameron Taylor netted several clutch shots and finished as top scorer with 15 points.
The semifinal series against Joventut started with a dramatic 118-117 overtime victory on Wednesday night in front of the home crowd. Jean Montero delivered an outstanding performance with 27 points and eight assists, while Taylor recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Valencia also enjoyed plenty of success in the EuroLeague this season, finishing 2nd in the regular season before eliminating Panathinaikos 3-2 in the quarterfinals. Their run ended in the Final Four semifinals where they were beaten by Real Madrid 105-90 in late May.
Joventut Have Limited Rotation
Joventut were highly productive in the closing stages of the ACB Liga regular season, winning four of their last five matches to secure 6th place with a 22-12 record.
After losing the quarterfinal opener in Vitoria, Joventut kept their playoff hopes alive by crushing Baskonia 82-63 in front of the home crowd. Cameron Hunt delivered one of his best performances of the season, scoring 27 points while shooting 6/8 from beyond the arc.
They then defied the odds in the decisive Game 3, claiming a 96-88 victory last weekend. Veteran Ricky Rubio played a huge role, scoring 23 points and knocking down four of his seven three-point attempts.
Joventut had an excellent shooting night in Valencia on Wednesday and came close to causing an upset, but ultimately fell short in a 118-117 overtime defeat. Their perimeter shooting was exceptional, converting 18 of 37 attempts from beyond the arc.
Verdict
Even though their defensive display left plenty of room for improvement, Valencia still managed to take the opening game of the series. Joventut have a much shorter rotation and fewer options to rely on, so I expect the hosts to wear them down over 40 minutes and cover the handicap in Game 2.
