T1 have had a chance to warm up, as they had to battle through the Play-In stage, where they crushed Karmine Corp and Team Liquid and closed the stage with a 9-0 record.
This should give T1 some advantage as they’ve had a chance to play in the current meta; however, during the three games, they’ve also shown some cracks.
Having looked shaky in the early game, T1 have given Bilibili Gaming a blueprint of how to attack Saturday’s match. But even with that, a victory will not come easy, as Bilibili Gaming’s mid-late game hasn’t been as polished this season.
- Clash of two tournament favourites
- Both teams have weaknesses
- A close game is likely on the cards

Bilibili Gaming Struggle Closing Out Games
Bilibili Gaming enter the Mid-Season Invitational as China’s no.1 seed. They won the LoL Pro League (LPL) with a dominant run through the playoffs, beating Ninjas in Pyjamas, Weibo Gaming, and JD Gaming.
Over the course of the season, Bilibili Gaming have proven themselves as one of the world’s elite teams, fielding some of the best players in their respective roles. They’ve also shown other strengths, namely strong early game. But they also have some big weaknesses.
Bilibili Gaming, as strong as they can be, are also volatile and sometimes a bit stupid. They will get leads and outplay their opponents, but then be very sloppy in closing out games, for which BLG will get punished.

T1 Are in Great Shape
T1 enter the MSI bracket stage following an excellent run through the Play-ins, where they managed a perfect 3-0 record (9-0 in maps), with wins against Karmine Corp and Team Liquid (twice).
T1 were the clear best team of the Play-Ins, and they’ve shown enough to justify their tag as one of the main tournament favourites. But as good as T1 have been so far, even they’ve shown some cracks.
Karmine Corp and mainly Team Liquid have caused them issues, both in the early game and in the mid-late game. It all came down to execution, where TL and KC lacked, so T1 did not get punished for it.
But now that T1 will face stronger teams, they could be hurt if their early game isn’t as polished and if the mid-late game mistakes continue to happen.

Verdict
This is the toughest game of the MSI Round 1 to predict, as it features two of the tournament’s strongest teams, each with their strengths and weaknesses.
T1 have an edge as they’ve had a chance to warm-up in the Play-in, but they’ve also shown cracks in that stage of the tournament, giving BLG some idea of how to approach this game. On the other side, Bilibili Gaming, as strong as they can be, are very shaky when it comes to closing out games, which T1 will punish with their superb macro.
This game can easily go both ways, and while it’s fair to lean one way or the other, T1 have shown more concerning cracks in the Play-Ins to ignore.
