TES stomped the first two maps by taking over the games early, but this plan did not work on the remaining three maps, when G2 pivoted into stronger early-game compositions. With that, they completely shut down TES’ main win condition, and in some way gave Top Esports’ next opponents a blueprint of how to beat them.
Despite fielding a very stacked roster, Top Esports have their flaws. They need to get ahead early to play out the games the way they want. If their opponents prevent them from accomplishing that, TES start to struggle.
