Hibernian vs Celtic Predictions & Tips - Away Win Tipped in the Scottish Premiership
Celtic travel to Easter Road to face Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership, aiming to rebound from a recent European defeat. The article highlights Hibs' ongoing struggles, with five losses in their last six league games and poor home form. Celtic, in contrast, have dominated recent meetings and remain strong domestically, winning eight of nine league matches this season. Hibs' new coach Marink Reedijk seeks improvement, but the outlook favours Celtic. The central recommendation is Celtic to win, with over 1.5 goals expected in the match.

Hibernian vs Celtic Predictions
Hibernian face Celtic at Easter Road in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
While the champions suffered another European defeat earlier this week, they should bounce back against an out-of-sorts Hibernian side.
I have my stake on Celtic to win with at least two goals scored.
Celtic Backed to Return to Winning Ways
- Hibernian lost 5 of their last 6 matches (Premiership)
- Hibernian have seen over 1.5 goals in 7 of their last 9 matches
- Hibernian lost 9 of their last 12 matches against Celtic
- Celtic have seen over 1.5 goals in 11 of their last 12 matches against Hibernian
- Celtic won 15 of their last 16 matches (Premiership)
- Celtic have seen over 1.5 goals in 13 of their last 15 matches
Celtic Dominate Recent H2H Record
Hibernian and Celtic have met on 25 occasions in competitive action since 2020.
The Hoops won 16 of those encounters while Hibs claimed only three victories. Six games finished level.
Celtic secured a 2-1 win in their most recent visit to Easter Road in May.
Hibs Struggles Continue
An out-of-form Hibernian return to Easter Road after a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Falkirk last Saturday.
Jacob Murrell scored twice to put the visitors in control before Owen Elding reduced the deficit shortly before half-time. Despite dominating the second period, the Hibees were left empty-handed in Edinburgh.
The hosts will have been hugely frustrated to take nothing from the contest. Hibs controlled possession (70%), outshot Falkirk 17-10 and recorded a higher xG total (1.29-0.68).
Marink Reedijk has now lost both matches since taking charge, after a 1-0 defeat at Dundee United in his first game. The Dutchman was appointed after David Gray's sacking last month.
A disastrous start to the season sees the Hibees rooted to the bottom of the Premiership with just seven points secured from nine matches.
The Edinburgh side lost five of their last six league games, with a 1-1 draw against Aberdeen their only point secured in that period.
Results at Easter Road have been particularly disappointing. Hibs lost four of five home league fixtures, with nine goals conceded in those defeats.
Celtic Crash to Celta Defeat
Celtic travel to Edinburgh after a frustrating 2-1 reversal against Celta Vigo at Parkhead on Thursday.
Mika Baur put the hosts ahead early in the second half, but two goals in three minutes from Javi Rodriguez condemned the Glasgow giants to a fourth successive European defeat.
Martin O'Neill's men could have few complaints after another ineffective European display. Celta outshot Celtic 22-8 and recorded a higher xG total (1.21-0.51).
The Scottish champions remain pointless after three Europa League matches.
Despite their continental travails, Celtic have remained consistent on the domestic stage. The Hoops won eight of their nine league fixtures this season, with their only defeat coming against local rivals Rangers.
O'Neill's men were at their blistering best in last weekend's stunning 7-1 win against Hearts. Callum Osmand and Benjamin Nygren scored twice each, with Kieran Tierney, Camilo Duran and a Jamie McCart own goal completing the scoring.
On the road, Celtic remain perfect in the Premiership, with ten goals scored in four successive away wins.
Hibernian vs Celtic Team News
Hibernian: (3-4-1-2) Raphael Sallinger; Jason Kerr, Marko Ivezic, Azeem Abdulai; Felix Passlack, Josh Mulligan, Miguel Chaiwa, Adam Mayor; Owen Elding; Martin Boyle, Thibault Klidje.
Head coach Reedijk has a handful of confirmed absentees this weekend. Rocky Bushiri, Jordan Obita, Kanayo Megwa, Callum Wright and Nathan Lowe are all ruled out.
Rabbi Matondo and Ante Suto could come into the side after appearing as second-half substitutes against Falkirk.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Reedijk said Hibs deserved more against Falkirk:
"We need to work hard, stick to the things we do, develop the things we do, make sure that we make fewer and fewer mistakes and make sure that we take our chances," Reedijk said.
"I leave very disappointed with a strange feeling in my stomach because I think the guys worked their guts out. I think we deserved more; however, we didn't get more. I'm therefore positive but with a sick feeling in my stomach."
Celtic: (4-2-3-1) Viljami Sinisalo; Colby Donovan, Dane Murray, Liam Scales, Kieran Tierney; Callum McGregor, Mika Baur; Haissem Hassan, Benjamin Nygren, Callum Osmand; Camilo Duran.
O'Neill is unlikely to make too many changes from the side that began Thursday's Europa League tie.
Callum Osmand came off with cramp on Thursday but is expected to be available.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston have resumed training but are unlikely to return to the first XI this weekend.
Viljami Sinisalo could come back into the side after Sam Johnstone started against Celta while South Korean forward Hyunjun Yang remains sidelined.
Speaking to BBC Sport, O'Neill felt Celtic missed a chance to take control against Celta Vigo:
"We conceded a free-kick, and I thought a second before that we should have had a foul for us," O'Neill said. "They score from the free-kick, and it knocks us a little bit. It gave them a bit of momentum.
"I think if Liam Scales' header goes in to make it 2-0, we get the three points. We've lost three matches now, remarkably, we're still in with a chance (of progressing). We've got to win here and got to win away from home.”
Verdict
Celtic's strong domestic form should help them return to winning ways in Edinburgh.
Hibernian have struggled badly, particularly at Easter Road, and that looks unlikely to change on Sunday.
Celtic to win & over 1.5 goals is my best bet.
