Livingston vs Aberdeen Live Stream & Tips - Livi Tipped to Avoid Premiership Defeat

Livingston host Aberdeen in a crucial Scottish Premiership match at Almondvale. Livingston, despite sitting bottom, have shown recent improvement, ending an eight-month winless run and going unbeaten in six of their last eight matches. Aberdeen, although holding a better head-to-head record, have struggled away from home, failing to win in their last five road games. With both teams missing key players, the hosts look set to take advantage. The best recommendation is a bet on a home win or draw, reflecting Livingston’s resilience and Aberdeen’s away struggles.

Livingston vs Aberdeen Predictions

Premiership strugglers Livingston have shown some fight in recent weeks, and I fancy the hosts to at least avoid defeat on Friday. A home win or draw is my best bet at Almondvale.

Dons Struggle on the Road

  • Livingston are unbeaten in 6 of their last 8 matches
  • Livingston are unbeaten in 4 of their last 5 home matches against Aberdeen
  • Aberdeen failed to win 13 of their last 17 away matches

Aberdeen Lead Livingston in H2H Record

Livingston and Aberdeen have met on 19 occasions since 2020. Aberdeen won ten of those matches, while Livingston claimed four victories.

Livingston Break Long Winless Run

Livingston return to Almondvale after ending an eight-month winless run with three points picked up against St Mirren last weekend. Second-half goals from Alexander Gogić (own goal) and Scott Pittman secured a first Livi win in over eight months.

In a classic smash-and-grab victory, Marvin Bartley’s side managed just four shots and an xG of 0.72. St Mirren were wasteful in front of goal, posting an xG of 1.1 from 17 attempts.

The Premiership strugglers had failed to win each of 33 previous fixtures, with last weekend's victory only their second league win of the season.

The hosts have proven tougher to beat in recent weeks, though. Livi are unbeaten in six of their eight previous Premiership matches, including 2-2 home draws against title-chasing opponents Hearts and Rangers.

Despite recent improvements, Bartley's boys sit bottom of the division, nine points short of safety with just four games to play

Aberdeen Secure Back-to-Back Victories

Aberdeen come into Friday's Premiership contest after a hard-fought 1-0 win against Kilmarnock last weekend. Afeez Aremu's goal after just 51 seconds proved the difference at Pittodrie.

In a tight and largely dull affair, the Dons were far from their best, with ten shots and a final xG tally of only 0.50.

Recently appointed head coach Stephen Robinson has now guided Aberdeen to back-to-back Premiership victories for the first time since November.

Those victories have lifted the visitors up to eighth in the division, eight points clear of the relegation playoff position.

A poor away record has been one of the major issues for an underperforming Dons side this season. Aberdeen failed to win any of their last five away matches, while they have won just four of 17 road games this season.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Livingston (4-3-3) Jerome Prior; Brooklyn Kabongolo, Danny Wilson, Ryan McGowan, Danny Finlayson; Mohamad Sylla, Scott Arfield, Cristian Montano; Lewis Smith, Stevie May, Joel Nouble

Livingston are expected to be without three players on Friday. Aidan Denholm, Connor McLennan and Babacar Fati all miss out due to injury issues.

Head coach Bartley believes his side's recent victory could spark a turnaround in their season.

“Hopefully, the beginning of a miracle. It's one game at a time. We need to produce our best at both ends of the pitch, and the players have managed to do that today.

“The players have given me everything every day; it's not just about the match on a Saturday. The wins have run away from us, but hopefully this win can give them a lift and belief as well.”

Aberdeen (4-3-3) Dimitar Mitov; Jack Milne, Liam Morrison, Gavin Molloy, Alexander Jensen; Afeez Aremu, Stuart Armstrong, Mitchel Frame; Lyall Cameron, Toyosi Olusanya, Kevin Nisbet

Head coach Robinson has a handful of absentees for Friday's Premiership clash. Nick Suman, Nicky Devlin, Kristers Tobers, Tom McIntyre and Emmanuel Gyamfi are all sidelined.

Robinson was pleased with his side's resilience after their win against Kilmarnock, highlighting both their strong start and defensive improvement.

“Delighted with the result. I thought we started really, really well and played brilliantly for 15-20 minutes. Then we looked very nervous after that.

“It's to be expected, of course. But one thing that hasn't been said about an Aberdeen side for a while is they're hard to beat, they defended crosses well and defended set-plays well.” he said.

Verdict

Livingston have improved in recent weeks, and they could take advantage of an Aberdeen side that rarely finds their best form in away matches. I have my stake on a home win or draw at Almondvale.
