Arizona State Went 8-4 In Regular Season

Arizona State earned a Bowl Game invite by winning eight of their 12 regular season games.

The Sun Devils went 2-1 in non-conference action to start the season, before opening their Big 12 schedule with a 27-24 win at Baylor and a 27-24 success at home to TCU.

They failed to make it three-in-a-row as they lost 42-10 at Utah, and they were then unable to build on a 27-22 victory against Texas Tech as they fell 24-16 to Houston.

Arizona State responded to that setback with a three-game win streak, beating Iowa State 24-19, West Virginia 25-23 and Colorado 42-17, but they were unable to make it four-in-a-row.

The Sun Devils ended the regular season with a 23-7 defeat when they played host to Arizona.

Duke Went 8-5 But Won ACC Championship

Duke closed out the regular season on a three-game win streak that lifted them to an 8-5 record and earned then the ACC title.

The Blue Devils failed to build on an opening-day win as they dropped back-to-back non-conference games, but they made a flying start to their ACC schedule as they won three straight.

They beat NC State 45-33 at home, and built on that victory on the road as they downed Syracuse 38-3 and Cal 45-21.

Duke cooled off after that, losing 27-18 to Georgia Tech before failing to back up a 46-35 victory at Connecticut as they lost 34-17 to Virginia.

The Blue Devils rallied though, securing an ACC Championship appearance by beating North Carolina 32-25 and Wake Forest 49-32, and they then claimed the conference crown with a 27-20 win over Virginia.

Duke take plenty of momentum into this matchup and now they get to face an Arizona State team without its star quarterback.
