The Yellow and Greens played a series of friendly matches in the last ten days, first losing to Estonia 110-108 in overtime, then to Arizona University 88-74, while beating Michigan 96-84 in their final test game.

They were nowhere close to being competitive in the second-phase opener against Turkey on Friday, suffering a convincing 94-66 defeat in Istanbul. Turnovers were a big problem here (17), while shooting was at 41%.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Must Keep Winning

Bosnia & Herzegovina were in a must-win situation on Friday when they hosted Italy in the sold-out Mejdan Hall in Tuzla and claimed a narrow 78-76 victory to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Their three-point shooting here was quite disastrous (4/28), but they controlled the glass with 46-37 rebounds. NBA veteran Jusuf Nurkic made a massive difference here with 25 points and 14 rebounds, landing 11 of his 19 FG attempts.

There is currently a lot of drama surrounding the Bosnian squad since Aleksandar Lazi and assistant coach Zoran Petkovic were forced to leave the national team on the orders of their club Igokea.
