Barcelona’s winning run was broken at PSG but they have won all five home games his season. Real Madrid have the weapons to score at Camp Nou, but I think Barca will make it 10 straight wins in La Liga.

These clubs have met in 264 competitive games, tied at 106-106 alongside 52 draws.

Fast Start for Barcelona

Barcelona started the season in sensational fashion, winning 11 matches with 48 goals scored. They were ruthless in the Champions League, winning 5-1 against Feyenoord and 4-1 at Galatasaray.

Hansi Flick’s side have a five point lead in La Liga where they are aiming for a third straight title.

The Catalan club won 5-2 at Real Betis in their last league clash. The hosts were reduced to 10 men which allowed Barca to pull away, ending the game with 69% possession and 3.10-1.24 xG.

The winning run was halted in the Champions League on Tuesday. Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal equalised at PSG but the Parisians scored two late goals, Barcelona going down 4-2 in an exciting clash.

Flick lamented the errors his side made in Paris: "We made too many mistakes, especially in ball possession, easy ball losses. This is what we have to analyse. But I saw a lot of good things also."

"For me it was a great test for us. You saw today in which areas we have to improve. This is what we will do. We have to understand the mistakes happen because [the players] are not fresh."

Two Road Defeats for Real Madrid

Real Madrid have won 10 of their 12 matches under José Mourinho, the only hiccups coming on the road. They lost 1-0 at Real Betis and 2-1 at Atletico Madrid to fall off the pace in La Liga.

Mourinho’s side have been been scoring plenty of goals, especially in the Champions League. They won 2-1 against Inter Milan, scored three late goals to win 4-3 at Roma and 4-1 against Leipzig.

Los Blancos have now won all six home games, scoring 23 goals with five conceded. Their five away games have resulted in 10 goals scored and nine conceded.

Mourinho spoke about the need to keep improving after the victory over Leipzig: "No one is where I want them to be. I always want to improve. I’ve been here for over a hundred days.

"Obviously, we are not where I want, but there are things we are doing better today than before. If you compare this victory to those against Rayo Vallecano or Málaga, we are improving."

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Barcelona (4-3-3) Joan García; Xavi Espart, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, João Cancelo; Fermín López, Rodri, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Anthony Gordon

Jules Koundé is dealing with an ankle sprain which should see Xavi Espart continue at right-back. Roony Bardghji is out long term with a cruciate ligament rupture.

Andreas Christensen and Eric García are out with Gerard Martín to continue partnering Pau Cubarsí in central defence. Expect Rodri to return to the starting side after being benched at PSG.

Dani Olmo came off in the first half in Paris and was replaced by Fermín López. Frenkie de Jong continues his come back from a long layoff.

Real Madrid (4-2-3-1) Thibaut Courtois; Federico Valverde, Ibrahima Konaté, Antonio Rüdiger, Álvaro Carreras; Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni; Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham, Yan Diomande; Kylian Mbappé

Raúl Asencio and Ferland Mendy remain out injured but Éder Militão was on the bench against Leipzig. Rodrygo is expected to return in January.

Federico Valverde has been starting at right-back with Denzel Dumfries and Trent Alexander-Arnold waiting for their chance.

Vinícius Junior is suspended here with Yan Diomande to come back into the starting side. Eduardo Camavinga could partner Aurélien Tchouaméni in central midfield with Bernardo Silva reverting to the bench.
