An impressive run of form has seen the Thais remain unbeaten in their last eight internationals. Hudson’s men won six of those games, with 24 goals scored in that period.
The War Elephants recorded five successive victories between October 2025 and March before drawing June friendlies against Kuwait and China.

Malaysia have now won five of their last six internationals, with their only defeat coming against a strong Vietnamese side earlier this year. Cheng Hoe’s men scored 16 goals across those six fixtures, while scoring two goals or more in five of their six victories.

Malaysia head coach Cheng Hoe has been dealt a blow with the absence of experienced midfielder Endrick.
Cheng Hoe confirmed the 31-year-old would miss out this weekend.
“At the moment, all the players are in the best condition. The only concern is Endrick,” said Cheng Hoe.
“Last night (on Wednesday), the doctor conducted an MRI scan and found that he has an MCL injury and needs to rest.
“This is not good news for the team. It is certainly a loss because Endrick is a senior and experienced player who helps guide the squad,” he said.
Captain Paulo Josue is certain to retain his place after scoring three goals in the opening two group matches.
