Saskatchewan return from the bye week looking to bounce back from the defeat in Winnipeg that dropped them to 8-5.

The defending champion Roughriders made a great start to the season as they won six of their first eight games, only to then stumble in August.

They were beaten in back-to-back games on the road, falling 26-19 in Hamilton before losing 30-16 at the BC Lions.

Saskatchewan steadied the ship with a 28-24 victory over Toronto, and then backed that up with a 32-26 overtime success against Winnipeg.

However, the Roughriders failed to make it three-in-a-row last time out, losing 19-6 when they visited the Blue Bombers.

BC come into this matchup as one of the form teams in the league, having won six of their last seven games to surge to 7-6.

The Lions endured a miserable start to the season as they lost five of their first six games, but they turned things around after a 35-19 win at Winnipeg in late July.

That proved to be the start of a five-game win streak that catapulted them right into the postseason picture.

BC beat Hamilton 27-24 at home, Calgary 30-26 on the road, Saskatchewan 30-16 at home and Ottawa 45-24 on the road, before seeing their run finally end with a 37-30 defeat in Montreal.

The Lions issued an immediate response however, as they avenged that loss to the Alouettes with a 48-29 win last time out.

Saskatchewan have the slightly better record, but it is BC with all of the momentum right now.

The Lions have won their last three at home, and can repeat last month’s victory when they hosted the Roughriders.
