Shandong Taishan host Yunnan Yukun in Friday's Chinese Super League matchup, with both teams known for high-scoring games this season. While Shandong seek to recover from a tough loss to Beijing Guoan, Yunnan arrive in good spirits after beating Henan. Both squads frequently see BTTS and over 2.5 goals in recent fixtures, and the history between them shows Yunnan with a slight edge. The recommendation is to back goals, especially BTTS and over 2.5 goals. Team news highlights potential squad changes for both sides.

Shandong Taishan vs Yunnan Yukun Predictions

Both teams have posted plenty of high-scoring outcomes this season, and I expect more of the same this weekend.

BTTS and over 2.5 goals is my preferred pick at Jinan Olympic Sports Center.

Goals Backed in Jinan

  • Shandong Taishan have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 8 matches (CSL)
  • Yunnan Yukun have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 12 matches (Domestic fixtures)

Yunnan Yukun Boast Strong H2H Record

Shandong Taishan and Yunnan Yukun have met three times since 2025. Yunnan have won two of those encounters, while one fixture finished level.

Shandong Seeking Response

Shandong Taishan return to Jinan after a disappointing defeat in their last Super League fixture.

Su Maozhen’s side slipped to a 2-0 loss against Beijing Guoan after centre-back Zheng Zheng was sent off in the first half. Late goals from Serginho and Lin Liangming gave the hosts a deserved win.

Taishan were second best for much of the contest and, despite a backs-to-the-wall display, left Beijing with nothing to show for their efforts. Guoan registered a remarkable 39 shots while generating an xG of 4.1.

Maozhen Su’s side have not been at their best in recent weeks. Shandong failed to win four of their last five CSL fixtures, leaving the hosts 7th in the Super League standings.

High-scoring outcomes have been frequent, particularly in Taishan’s home fixtures. Each of their last three games at Jinan Olympic Sports Center produced BTTS and over 2.5 goals.

An average of 3.5 goals per game has been scored across their eight home fixtures this season.

Yunnan See-Off Henan

Yunnan Yukun make the trip to Jinan in confident mood after a fine 2-1 win against Henan FC. Trailing 1-0 at the interval, Bunyamin Abdusalam levelled in the 64th minute before Cleber completed an excellent comeback victory 11 minutes later.

Jordi Vinyals’ side were well-deserved winners at Yuxi Plateau Sports Center. Yukun finished the contest with 19 efforts on goal and a final xG of 2.61.

Like the home side, Yunnan have struggled to maintain consistency in performance this season. Yukun won five but lost six of their last 14 fixtures.

Before last weekend’s win against Henan, the visitors had failed to win each of four previous CSL encounters.

On the road, goals can usually be expected when Vinyals’ men are involved. An average of 3.44 goals per game has been scored across the visitors’ nine away Super League matches this season.

Shandong Taishan vs Yunnan Yukun Team News

Shandong Taishan: (3-4-2-1) Wang Dalei; Gao Zhunyi, Peng Xiao, Huang Zhengyu; Mewlan Mijit, Guilherme Madruga, Xie Wenneng, Yang Liu; Chen Pu, Valeri Qazaishvili; Zeca

Head coach Su Maozhen is expected to make changes after last week’s defeat against Beijing Guoan.

Zheng Zheng is suspended after his dismissal in Beijing, with Peng Xiao likely to deputise in the Taishan defence.

Yunnan Yukun: (4-2-3-1) Zhifeng Wang; Wang Kit Tsui, Andrei Burca, Zihao Yang, Chenliang Zhang; Caio Vinicius, Chugui Ye; John Hou Saether, Alexandru Ionita, Oscar Taty Maritu; Bunyamin Abdusalam

Head coach Jordi Vinyals is expected to make at least one change to his first XI. Yuhao Zhao is tipped to miss out after limping off in the first half of last weekend’s win against Henan.

Chugui Ye is expected to replace Zhao in the Yukun midfield.

Verdict

Both teams recent results suggest a strong chance of goals in Friday’s CSL encounter.

I'm putting my money on BTTS and over 2.5 goals.
