Shenzhen Peng City vs Qingdao West Coast Predictions & Tips - Goals Tipped in Super League Encounter

Shenzhen Peng City host Qingdao West Coast in a Chinese Super League clash expected to feature plenty of goals, as both teams have regularly scored and conceded in recent matches. While Qingdao enjoy an eight-game winning record in their head-to-head, Shenzhen are entertaining but defensively vulnerable, having lost their last two matches. Qingdao remain unbeaten in 14 matches, though clean sheets continue to evade them. The best betting recommendation is 'Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals'. Expect another open, high-scoring battle.

Shenzhen Peng City vs Qingdao West Coast Predictions

Goals look likely when Shenzhen Peng City host Qingdao West Coast in Saturday’s Chinese Super League contest.

Both teams have been scoring and conceding regularly, so BTTS and over 2.5 goals are my preferred picks at Shenzhen Stadium.

Goals Backed in Shenzhen

  • Shenzhen Peng City have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches (CSL)
  • Shenzhen Peng City have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 6 matches against Qingdao West Coast
  • Qingdao West Coast have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches (CSL)

Qingdao Hold Dominant H2H Record

Shenzhen Peng City and Qingdao West Coast have met nine times since 2022. Qingdao won eight of those games, including a 2-1 win on their last visit to Shenzhen Stadium.

Shenzhen picked up one draw last year.

Shenzhen Seeking Response

Shenzhen Peng City return to home soil after a dismal 3-0 defeat against Tianjin Jinmen Tiger in their last Super League fixture.

Robbie Neilson’s side dominated the ball with 64% possession and registered 13 efforts on goal, but lacked quality in the final third.

The hosts have now lost back-to-back CSL fixtures after a 3-2 reversal in their most recent home contest against league leaders Chengdu.

Before those losses, Peng City had enjoyed a four-game unbeaten run. Nielsen’s men now sit 11th in the division, seven points behind Qingdao.

Shenzhen have been an entertaining side to watch in recent weeks, scoring 10 and conceding 10 across their last five matches. Four of those games finished with BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored.

Qingdao West Coast Maintain Fine Form

Qingdao West Coast make the trip to Shenzhen in high spirits after an impressive 2-1 win against Shanghai Port in their last Super League outing.

After a goalless opening 84 minutes, Nelson Luz broke the deadlock before Davidson added a second in stoppage time. Matthew Orr’s goal, ten minutes into added time, proved consolation only for the out-of-form CSL champions.

Zheng Zhi’s men deserved their victory at Guzhenkou University Sports Center. Shenzhen finished the contest with more efforts on goal, 10-6, and a higher xG total, 1.92-1.17.

The visitors have enjoyed an excellent run of form in the past couple of months. West Coast are unbeaten in their last 14 games, with victories collected in four of their last six CSL contests.

Qingdao have also been involved in plenty of open matches in recent weeks, scoring 11 goals in their last five games. Still, defensive issues remain a cause for concern, with no clean sheets recorded in any of their last 11 matches.

Shenzhen Peng City vs Qingdao West Coast Team News

Shenzhen Peng City: (4-2-3-1) Peng Peng; Yu Rui, Gabriel Xavier, Filip Benkovic, Jiang Zhipeng; Eden Karzev, Dai Wai Tsun; Albion Ademi, Zhang Xiaobing, Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere; Wesley Moraes

Robbie Neilson could make changes after last week’s 3-0 defeat against Tianjin Jinmen Tiger. Li Long is set to miss out after being withdrawn just 20 minutes into that away reversal.

Dai Wai Tsun is another injury concern after picking up a knock, having replaced Li Long last weekend.

Qingdao West Coast: (4-2-3-1) Li Hao; Zhang Chengdong, Samir Memisevic, Wang Peng, Ding Haifeng; Rezende, Peng Xinli; Nelson Luz, Davidson, Aifeierding Aisikaer; Aziz

Head coach Zhi is likely to retain confidence in the same side that edged past Shanghai Port.

The visitors have no reported injury issues.

Verdict

Qingdao are in better form, but clean sheets have been infrequent for the away side.

With Shenzhen seeing plenty of high-scoring matches in recent weeks, another entertaining encounter seems likely.

BTTS is my preferred pick, while I also expect to see three or more goals scored at Shenzhen Stadium.
