The Ducks underwhelmed on opening weekend, but they are better than that performance suggests, while another season of struggle appears to be on the cards for the Cowboys.

Oregon Take 1-0 Record On The Road

Oregon kicked off their campaign with a victory last weekend, but they made hard work of it.

The Ducks went into the meeting with Boise State as a 25.5 point favourite, but trailed by as many as 10 points during the first half, before going into the break 17-14 down.

They rallied after the restart, but the Broncos stuck around and it took a 62-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to finally break their resistence.

Oregon won it 34-27, with quarterback Dante Moore going 28/37 for 378 yards and three touchdowns.

Jeremiah McClellan led the team in receiving with 150 yards and a touchdown off six grabs, while Jordan Davison contributed 90 yards and a TD on the ground.

Oklahoma State Opened With Shock Loss

Oklahoma State go into their home opener having seen their losing skid resume with a surprise defeat last weekend.

The Cowboys suffered a heavy loss when they hosted Oregon in Week 2 of last season, and that proved to be the start of an 11-game losing run to close out the campaign.

They went into their 2026 opener as a double digit favourite despite that miserable record, but they picked up from where they left off with another defeat, losing 24-10 to Tulsa.

Starting quarterback Drew Mestemaker went 29/49 for 241 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss.

Caleb Hawkins rushed for 79 yards off 18 carries, while Wyatt Young led the team in receiving with 84 yards off eight grabs.

Verdict

Oregon @ Oklahoma State

Oregon crushed Oklahoma State when these two teams met last season, and we expect more of the same here.

The Ducks are expected to show significant improvement following that struggle with Boise State, and that is likely to result in a one-sided win for the visitors.
